Job Description
We have an amazing new opportunity for a Technical Service Delivery Manager (internally known as a Technical Portfolio Manager) to join our team in the CIO directorate.
You'll work closely with the VM Business, IT teams, and suppliers to assess and prioritise projects, small works, and in-life changes. This role is all about keeping things moving, driving improvements, and making sure everything, from managed services to supplier deliverables, meets Virgin Media O2’s high standards.
You'll be the main point of contact for supplier delivery, whether it’s one or multiple suppliers, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Managing Supplier Managed Services, you'll step in when needed to maintain quality and drive ongoing improvements.
Keeping an eye on SLAs and KPIs, you'll make sure suppliers stay on track and take action when things go off course. You’ll also help keep technical debt low and solution quality high by balancing project priorities.
Working closely with suppliers, you'll ensure accurate impact assessments, maintain solid pipeline forecasting and financial control, and collaborate with key tech and business stakeholders to deliver the best solutions. Plus, you’ll champion Virgin Media O2’s values, making sure our outsourcing partners follow processes.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Ability to demonstrate end to end Software delivery lifecycle experience, inclusive of examples of delivery management challenges dealt with and overcome in previous roles.
- Previous experience of management of Partners in a software delivery and production support environment, from input to and value add during the Managed Services Agreement contracting phase through defining governance and the delivery model, involvement in the implementation of the service, and into day to day operational mode.
- Strategic, objective, and timely decision making demonstrating balanced consideration of technical and business issues, consultation with key stakeholders, and alignment to individual, team, departmental, and overall strategic goals.
- Strong management of Partners in a technically complex environment. Inclusive of agreeing, setting up, monitoring, and reporting on performance, and corrective measures aimed at closely monitoring and improving performance levels.
- Proven adaptiveness to change with the ability to adjust position in a technically complex and fast paced environment, demonstrating personal flexibility along with the ability to articulate complex and technical challenges in a way that encourages Partners to demonstrate equivalent levels of flexibility and goodwill.

- The ability to engage the delivery team and business to resolve trade-offs of scope, priority, business and technical risk.
- An unshakeable focus on quality and performance and how this affects the end customer experience.
- Experienced in delivering IT using multiple methodologies, i.e., Waterfall, Agile.
