This position is for a Transport Engineering intern. The projects you will work on will enhance your skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Intelligent Edge Network.

  • Capacity Management (Layer 1 & 2).

  • Project Management.

  • Equipment Migration and Decommissioning.

  • Business Analytics.

  • Programming: Tableau, Splunk.

  • Business Skill and Capital Budgeting Analysis.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship may be based out of Chandler, AZ or Lone Tree, CO. If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

What we’re looking for...

You’re a motivated self-starter. You enjoy solving problems with a knack for digging into the details to determine root causes, qualifying impact, and pursuing impactful solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where new challenges come up every day. You are flexible, dependable, and work well in varying environments. Learning quickly is personally rewarding and inspires you to take smart risks.

You’ll need to have:

  • Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025 working a full-time schedule.

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related majors with a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Coursework or demonstrated experience in TCP/IP Protocols.

  • Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Familiarity with Intelligent Edge Network.

  • Understanding of Capacity Management (Layer 1 & 2).

  • Project Management.

  • Business Analytics.

  • Programming: Tableau, Splunk.

  • Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

  • Knowledge of network topology.

In addition to building your skills and experiences, you will be eligible to participate in our robust 401(k) Savings Plan which provides a dollar-for-dollar company match on the first 6% of your contributions as a percentage of your eligible pay. You will also be eligible for holiday pay, as applicable.

The compensation range for this position is between $25/hour - $31/hour. The salary will vary depending on your role and class year.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
