What you’ll be doing...
Our program provides the US Government with unique capabilities in our commercial networks to support emergency communications needs during natural or man-made events/disasters.
As a Principal PTS IMS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, testing, troubleshooting, and accepting priority services in the IMS Network elements for wireless priority voice, data, and video services. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers continue to enjoy crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance when the network is overloaded due to an emergency event.
You’ll provide pre-sales engineering support for the development of technical proposals, working with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and develop architecture solutions and compliance matrices that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs per customer requirements and industry standards. You will manage the documentation deliverables to align with the customer's system engineering life cycle process.
Serving as the subject matter expert for Priority Services in the Internet Multimedia Service (IMS), you will work closely with engineers and planners to recommend service improvements and give guidance to network planning, network evolution, and growth plans for priority wireless services. You will also provide leadership, guidance, and technical direction to engineering projects to define goals and identify the scope of work needed to develop standards-based solution architectures for specific customer requirements for priority voice, data, and video services.
You will develop and validate IMS architecture and engineering requirements, network impact assessment, engineering design standards, and network statistics definition.
You’ll work closely with the production network teams in the development, testing, and implementation of advanced data core features.
You will create and implement test plans, maintain and recommend changes to test cases, test procedures, and instructions for successful end-to-end testing of priority service features in the VoLTE IMS network elements. The task requires IP tracing in a complex network and multi-protocol analysis. You will have the ability to document the test cases and be responsible for cleaning up discrepancies and ambiguity in the test, including validation with architects to ensure the correct call flow, clearly and accurately document and discuss the discrepancies, anomalies, or issues with the test case.
As needed, you’ll examine and troubleshoot flows using various packet analyzer tools and independently analyze performance trends of various high-level and engineering-level Key Performance Indicators for Priority Services.
You will have to develop and maintain excellent proactive working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company, especially internal teams. You will be responsible for satisfying customer technical, product quality, and timely delivery expectations.
Providing mentoring to other team members on networking, application design, engineering, and automation while acting as the final escalation point to support production service issues in concert with application, operational, and triage teams.
Leading performance meetings with the vendor, planning and maintenance engineering, and creating detailed project plans.
Providing input on status calls with teams across several organizations.
Finishing projects independently and meeting tight timelines without impacting critical services.
Developing excellent working relationships with and working as a partner with other departments and vendors with the purpose of developing best practices for engineering and operations.
