The Creative Director (CD) provides design leadership for all 3D Retail Design within the in-house design team. Working in collaboration with counterpart creatives (3D Displays and 2D Creative Communications), this position sets the tone for all Verizon Retail.
This is an execution focused position for someone with demonstrated achievements in retail, who can successfully manage the balance between business, technology and design. We are looking for a creative leader who will help Verizon become the leader in store design and retail experience. The CD inspires and leads a team of designers and external consultants, and has the needed skills to translate business requirements into clear design direction in a physical environment.
What you'll be doing:
Embracing our new store retail concept and taking it to the next level with demonstrated experience and ability to iterate new retail concepts/formats.
Developing retail design strategy for all Verizon channels (Direct /Indirect stores).
Strategically deploying store designs into all Verizon physical spaces.
Developing designs for interior retail fixtures using past ability, knowledge and experience.
Recommending, researching, and developing the latest retail trends/experiences to support creative strategy and execution.
Collaborating with other Creative Directors to artfully build creative solutions to address specific project objectives.
Being accountable for the final development and production of creative assets and ensures accuracy, attention to details and overall meets or exceeds the design objectives.
Ensuring brand guidelines and directives are implemented, embraced and adhered to in all executions.
Playing an active role in contributing conceptual ideas in brainstorms or offline creative development.
Working to improve the integrated team’s overall performance and embraces a collaborative approach.
You'll need to have:
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
A portfolio of relevant work.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
In House retail design experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
Experience with large iconic brands translating concept designs into scalable programs for our large fleet of retail locations and customer touch points.
Demonstrated creative conceptualization skills.
Demonstrates proficient expertise in Architectural CAD 2D & 3D programs, including Sketch-Up.
Understands design applications in traditional and emerging channels.
Contributes in developing initial creative strategies to address core marketing and business objectives.
Actively participates in the ideation process leveraging research, analytics, and brand insights
States opinions clearly and can verbally describe visual concepts.
Produces work that adheres to brand standards, but also able to explore new interpretations of the brand and develops out-of-the-box approaches to grow the retail experience.
Can take direction well from creative directors.
Understands that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on-time, on-budget and on-strategy.
Where you’ll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $149,000.00 and $277,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
