Job Description

When you join Verizon

You want more out of a career. A place to share your ideas freely — even if they’re daring or different. Where the true you can learn, grow, and thrive. At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together — lifting our communities and building trust in how we show up, everywhere & always. Want in? Join the V Team Life.

This role will help drive Verizon’s communications, media relations, and strategic campaign approach on behalf of the Consumer team. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive PR and communications strategies to engage consumer audiences, enhance our brand’s reputation and promote Verizon's best in class products and services.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and implementing communication strategies that support Verizon Consumer's business objectives, elevate the brand, and help drive the sales funnel.

  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with consumer, technology, and business media outlets and organizations.

  • Creating compelling content, including innovative ways to tell a story via pitches, articles, partnerships, thought leadership and other innovative ways to tell a story.

  • Planning and executing events, speaking engagements, etc. that engage key stakeholder audiences.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to all campaigns, launches, and alignment of messaging and initiatives across the organization.

  • Being a partner to a top notch consumer communications team and leading PR agency partners to create and execute plans that drive business results.

  • Serving as communications counsel to senior leadership as needed.

What we're looking for:

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Background in consumer, entertainment, technology, and consumer packaged goods PR.

  • Skilled communication skills with a deep understanding of consumer PR and communications, how to engage and connect the narrative across various stakeholders, including consumer, employee and investors, and a proven track record of success in media and client relations.

  • Written, oral, and presentation skills.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans that go beyond traditional public relations.

  • Willingness to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and delivering quality consistently.

  • Effective communication skills for all levels of an organization.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
