What you’ll be doing...

You'll be managing a group of 8 Business Continuity professionals that work with all Verizon lines of business, to update, exercise, and certify over 1,200 business continuity plans annually. Work with strategic business units across the enterprise to identify critical aspects of Verizon operations (business functions, network infrastructure and technology, critical facilities and vendors).

  • Creating and manage the development, maintenance and exercise of business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, and Site Emergency Action Plan requirements in accordance with Verizon’s Business Continuity & Event Management (BCEM) Framework; and ensure that all plans meet both Verizon and any applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

  • Providing clear expectations of BCEM Planning program requirements and activities to executive stakeholders.

  • Creating / maintain the BCEM Master Planning Calendar, Planning Scorecard, Business Unit Scorecards and Executive Steering Committee Scorecard.

  • Managing the International Incident Monitoring and Response Support: Ensure Verizon is prepared to respond to events in the Asia Pac and EMEA regions through maintenance, exercise and certification of the region EMPs; region specific awareness activities and coordination with the Global Event Management Center (GEMC) to provide local assessments and contacts when needed.

  • Managing the Verizon Customer Portal which provides information to Verizon’s suppliers and customers on Verizon’s business continuity and incident management capabilities.

  • Partnering with the Supplier Risk Management office to mitigate vendor business continuity risk.

  • Working with GEMC to support incident management preparations, event assessments and crisis management team activations.

  • Managing System Administrator for Fusion BCEM Planning system.

What we’re looking for...

You'll have experience and leadership managing a business continuity planning program. As part of people leadership, you are expected to: assess performance, coach and develop, hold employees accountable, take appropriate corrective actions, train, and provide ongoing direction and feedback. You’ll need to have:

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Six or more years of leadership experience in operations, project management, or business continuity management.

  • Five years of experience in managing a business continuity planning program.

  • DRII Business Continuity Professional Certification (CBCP or MBCP).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • 5 years of experience with incident response.

  • Familiarity with our BCEM Planning application, Fusion, or equivalent.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
