The role of the Risk, Project and Legal Governance department is to support strategy execution through robust frameworks for decision making, management of risks and uncertainties, compliance and legal governance. A key role within the team is that of Data Protection Specialist.

As the Data Protection Specialist, you are responsible for defining and establishing data protection standards in BA Wind and driving compliance-related activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inform and advise Business Area Wind and its employees about obligations to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other data protection laws.
  • Oversee training of BA Wind employees.
  • Develop and implement privacy control framework for BA Wind.
  • Monitor implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitor and report compliance with data protection legislation.
  • Perform investigations into data protection breaches and undertake reporting and remedial action as needed.
  • Manage data subject requests.
  • Establish BA standards for data protection agreements.
  • Ensure legally required documentation is in place and updated.
  • Ensure high risk processing activities are identified, analysed, managed and documented by risk owners.
  • Provide advice on mitigating risks around data protection processing activities.
  • Provide advice following data processing audits and data breaches.
  • Develop the culture and ethos of data compliance across BA Wind
  • Act as the contact point on high-risk issues related to the processing of personal data and providing information as requested to BA Wind /Vattenfall on compliance in this area.

The Vattenfall Business Area Wind develops and operates renewable energy projects (offshore wind, onshore wind, solar and battery) in our core markets. Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (or similar) in law, compliance, corporate governance or other relevant field
  • At least 5 years work experience in a large international corporation in the corporate governance or compliance area
  • A deep understanding of GDPR and data protection in the UK and EU with at least 3 years proven experience in the field
  • You thrive on solving complex challenges in complex stakeholder environment.
  • Visible and self-managing and able to work effectively as part of a virtual team
  • A strong communicator with excellent command of English both verbally and written; German is a plus.
  • Ability to deal with urgent topics and focus on what is important
  • Ability to build a positive culture around data protection.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a structured way.

Location
The possible locations for this position are Amsterdam, Hamburg, Hexham, London or Stockholm. Regular business trips are required.
