👩🏻‍💻 About The Position

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing Sales team here at V7! As a BDR, you will be considered a key member of our frontline Sales team - seeking new business opportunities for V7 by contacting and developing strategic relationships with potential clients.

You will work closely with our Sales, Marketing and Partnerships team to identify and engage prospective clients and get them excited about what V7 has to offer. You will be partnered with an Account Executive to focus on strategy and professional development, providing invaluable support to the Sales team by generating sales-qualified leads.

We’re looking for someone who is excited about consultative selling to commercial and enterprise prospects and who has a thirst for knowledge when it comes to the fast-paced, ever-changing world of AI and Computer Vision.

✅ At V7, this means you will:

  • Reach out to new prospective clients in our target market across multiple channels e.g. LinkedIn, email, telephone, Loom, etc. with a specific focus on engaging with Director level and above titles
  • Demonstrate the value of V7 through creative outbound techniques to a diverse audience
  • Set meetings with qualified prospects for handoff to Account Executives
  • Effectively and professionally manage relationships with prospective networks and keep them interested and in the loop
  • Have continual strategic alignment with your Account Executive when it comes to targeting different industries and geographies
  • Communicate with Account Executives and educate them on the details of the opportunities you qualify e.g. recent rounds of funding, new project initiatives, funding specifically to develop new AI models
  • Have the autonomy to build, develop and iterate communication templates for outreach to different industries
  • Consistently achieve qualified meetings and BDR pipeline-generated quotas
  • Have a thirst to seek new ways to find prospects and target accounts
  • Be up-to-date with the latest market trends and industry news

  • Automotive companies developing the training data for self-driving cars
  • Healthcare giants storing millions of digital pathology images and processing them automatically to pre-screen for cancer in tissue samples
  • Global restaurant chains using our tech to spot blemishes and damage in food at the factory level and saving millions in QA
  • Oil and gas companies inspecting their infrastructure via cameras and drones on a daily basis in an ever-improving system of corrosion or damage detection
  • Processing tens of millions of parcel shipments paperwork that no other software on the market is able to read

Requirements

  • Strong communicator - AI can get overwhelming and our prospective use cases can be complex. You must be able to empathise with our customers, zero in on their specific needs and requirements and, fundamentally, articulate how V7 can satisfy those needs. We expect prospects to find your communication credible and pique their interest in what V7 can do for them. You will be trained to discover pain points and appropriately position our solution in order to develop highly engaged leads
  • Competitive mindset and a desire to join a high-growth startup
  • Comfortable talking to a variety of users. V7 plays a day-to-day role for a wide range of end users: engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, CTOs, directors of AI and many more. You’ll interface with some or all of these in an organisation to generate business pipeline and their knowledge of what we offer varies from industry to industry
  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS business development or a similar role, exceptional graduates considered
  • A fast-learner - you have an analytical mindset and are able to understand and explain a technical product within a matter of weeks
