Job Description

The way we work across TUI Airline is changing. Our goal in Engineering & Maintenance is to be a truly integrated service provider to the TUI Airline based out of UK&I, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the Nordics. We are embarking on a journey to unite five independent engineering & maintenance establishments, and create one cohesive pan-European organisation, driving harmonisation and best practice in what we do and capitalising on our collective size to deliver economies of scale, whilst fostering a common culture of excellence in quality and delivery.

It will be based out of the TUI Airline source market of the successful candidate, with a requirement for regular European travel.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Evaluate Engine Maintenance Programmes (EMP): Analyze OEM work scope guides, engine reliability data, and shop visit findings; collaborate with OEMs and MROs to optimize EMP at best cost.

  • Financial Assessment: Work with Finance teams to assess the financial and budgetary impacts of off-wing maintenance activities.

  • Coordinate Off-Wing Modifications: Collaborate with the Powerplant Engineer to plan, optimize, and recommend cost-efficient modifications while ensuring compliance.

  • Develop Engine Removal Plans: Create detailed removal plans for the TUI group in coordination with Lifecycle, Finance Teams, and MROs.

  • Manage Shop Visit Process: Define work scopes, represent TUI on-site at MROs, assess part suitability, and perform detailed invoice reviews.

  • Spare Engine Management: Oversee the introduction, daily support, and redelivery of spare engines.

  • Support Warranty and Insurance Claims: Handle claims related to off-wing maintenance events.

  • Contract Negotiation Expertise: Provide technical input for negotiating engine and APU repair contracts and aircraft procurement.

  • Collaborate with Management Teams: Support the Powerplant Program Manager and E&M management with additional tasks and strategic activities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Promote data-driven, solutions-focused enhancements to processes while adhering to TUI’s values and professional standards.

ABOUT YOU

  • Considerable engine technical expertise and significant experience of the technical and commercial aspects of engine overhaul

  • Skilled commercial negotiator, and strong communicator with the proven ability to influence, partner with senior leaders, and gain support and commitment from stakeholders

  • Proven financial acumen and sound numeracy, with the ability to quickly identify and assess risks and opportunities, and to employ analytical tools to improve performance

  • A logical thinker with the ability to generate ideas and alternatives

  • Demonstrable ability to clearly articulate concepts and arguments verbally and in written documentation

  • Sound administration and organisational skills and, and adept with Microsoft Excel

  • A self-motivated individual who takes the initiative and works collaboratively, and with meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to operate within in a pan-European arena, with multiple stakeholders across a range of source markets

  • Comfortable communicating with internal and external contacts

  • A logical thinker with the ability to generate ideas and alternatives

This role requires strong business English (written & spoken) and will involve travel across Europe and occasionally worldwide.
