Job Description

Within TUI Group, TUI Airline regroups all airline activities across UK, Nordics, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Morocco, France, and the Dutch Antilles. Engineering and Maintenace is a function within our airline organisation responsible for Hangar 61 & Hangar 40 and internal associated estate properties enabling the completion of base maintenance activities on our Boeing fleet within the TUI Group.

As Hangar 61 Facilities Manager your focus will be to take accountability and manage the Luton Base Engineering Facilities for Hangar 61, Building 99, Building 100 structure, surrounding grounds including allocated car parks.

The role-holder will also maximise all internal & external communication channels to support and promote the work of the team and expand the positive impact across the business thus facilitating a greater working culture.

In this role, you’ll report to the Base Maintenance Manager.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Hangar 61 Facilities Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Responsible to manage suppliers, including third party contracted suppliers, who support buildings and surrounding grounds, to ensure a safe environment for all staff and visitors.
  • Responsible to negotiate and execute long term projects on behalf of the base maintenance manager in line with approved budget. Continuous improvement of facility and supplier contract terms to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with the Base maintenance manager, Hangar Management team, engineers and workshops to ensure all hangar facilities servicability.
  • To manage the delivery of identified on-site facilities projects e.g., building refurbishments, modifications, relocations etc. to support operational requirements.
  • To oversee the management and delivery of KPI’s/SLA’s third-party suppliers for facilities management, cleaning and waste.
  • Work closely with the Sustainability requirements of the TUI group to meet company standards for items such as energy usage, chemicals storage, disposal of waste etc.
  • Managing building repairs as required for H61, B99, B100 and associated car parks.
  • Managing Luton engineering leased vehicles.
  • Managing ad hoc facility related projects as and when required.
  • Work in collaboration with external companies and universities on facility development opportunities for TUI airline.
  • Ensuring activities within the department are carried out in accordance with departmental / company procedures i.e. hot works permits
  • Skilled technically to be able to rectify day to day defects across the estate supporting the Facilities maintenance technician.
  • Embrace Continuous improvement of all facilities and propose positive change into the Hangar 61 Maintenance Manager to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Accountable in the delivery of KPI’s/SLA’s third-party suppliers for facilities management, cleaning, and waste.
  • Work closely with the Sustainability requirements of the TUI group to meet company standards for items such as energy usage, chemicals storage, disposal of waste etc.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility management – Preferable Aviation.
  • Able to manage priorities and work to demanding timescales.
  • Proven background in facility/ Plant maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and safety regulations and requirements. Preferably IOSH Trained
  • Excellent knowledge of company’s IT systems, Adobe, Office.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety and UK HSE requirements
  • Computer literate.
  • Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written, and may involve some international travel.
