As Engineer Mentor & Trainer, your focus will be to integrate the new engineers into Base Maintenance, developing their technical skills through coaching & mentoring and also initiating, pioneering and promoting excellent maintenance activities and behaviours throughout the Base Maintenance facility.

In this role, you’ll report to the H40 Capacity Manager.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Engineer Mentor & Trainer, you’ll be responsible for:

Integrating new engineers:

  • You will coordinating and providing induction training for new starters
  • With your team of new recruits, you will work on the aircraft, training them in all aspects of an aircraft engineer’s job and related company procedures also excercising your own certification responsibilities
  • Organize your work according to the practical training schedule you have set up
  • Pass on knowledge, know how and interpersonal skills by educating and helping them to carry out maintenance tasks correctly
  • Introduce and train new colleagues on our tools, test sets and ground support equipment; setup and give training to all staff when new tooling is introduced or specific tooling requires additional training
  • Ensure that work instructions and safety rules are applied and complied with
  • Work closely with Chief Licensed Engineers, operational management and the training department to organise and coordinate the practical training plan for the engineers.
  • Monitor and report on engineers’ progress by using a skills matrix method
  • Contribute to increasing TUI’s Base Maintenance capacity through a structured training plan, therefore suggest areas for improvement in training and efficiency; identify and formulate improvements to the induction and training process.
  • Independently assess and validate the skills of young engineers, adapting the training program if necessary, in consultation with the Chief Licensed Engineers, Check Managers and Base Maintenance Manager

Harmonising / improving maintenance practices within the hangar:

  • Provide "technical and best practice" expertise to all production staff, including Chief Licensed Engineers where appropriate, to ensure product conformity and the smooth running of the company's processes.

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a Bachelor diploma or equivalent through experience, with in-depth knowledge of good aviation practices and aircraft maintenance principles.
  • Experienced EASA licence B1 (or B1/B2) on 737NG/Max type ratings.
  • Good knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulation.
  • Good understanding of EASA SMS requirements.
  • Technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance and problem solving methods and techniques.
  • Good educational skills and excellent verbal communicator.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of company’s engineering operating systems
  • Excellent leadership skills, serious, attentive, respectful of rules, computer literate.
  • Good command of English, able to communicate in French and Dutch is a plus.
  • Teammate, culturally aware and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
