Job Description

Who we are:

At TrueLayer, we’re building a global open banking platform that’s changing how money moves and so much more. We make payments and refunds instant, account data accessible and verification seamless — all so innovators in every industry can build better financial experiences for their users.

To date, we’ve raised $270 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Addition and Tencent. We’ve got offices in London, Milan, Dublin and Sydney. And we’re trusted by industry leaders like Revolut, Cazoo and Trading 212… though we’re not stopping here.

Our vision is a financial system that works for everyone. To make that happen, we’re creating original and innovative products that will remove the friction from finance for good. We’re seriously scaling our infrastructure, we’re entering new areas all the time, we’re cornering a whole new category — and we’d like your support to get us there.

Description

At TrueLayer, we’re moving fast. And animation is becoming increasingly important to how we communicate our free-flowing ideas. Which is why we need you, Motion Designer, to help us turn the complexities of our world into simple stories.

Sat in the Creative Execution team, you’ll work with both Brand and Marketing to increase awareness of who we are and what we enable. But more than that, you’ll be defining how we do motion. Working with our design system, and creating new solutions that will make TrueLayer truly cool.

Who are you? A conceptual thinker. A visual storyteller. A detail-oriented animator. Unafraid of technical nitty-gritty, you’ll love bringing ideas to life in new and inspiring ways.

Requirements

What we want from you:

  • Transform static moments into surprising and delightful moving experiences.
  • Breathe life into marketing collateral for campaigns, product launches, events, webinars, blog articles and social posts.
  • Create detailed documentation including storyboards, creative briefs, motion specs and motion guidelines
  • Own motion projects and create assets that are highly creative and technically flawless
  • Partner with brand and visual designers, content strategists, copywriters… to build briefs, prototype interactions, and craft deliverables. Think: video explainers, animations, prototypes, user flows, product launch videos.
  • Incorporate motion into our design system via templates and tooling
  • Adapt and evolve our motion language, guidelines and principles
  • Actively contribute to our growing and passionate design community (we do design reviews, Show and Tells, offsites…)

Your experience:

  • Working professionally as a 2D animator, with skills in two or more disciplines: graphic design, brand design, illustration, storytelling
  • Animated explainer type videos
  • Proven delivery of motion studies, animations, transitions, and other motion work for consumer-facing applications, websites, or marketing collaterals
  • working with design systems / brand guidelines
  • After Effects, with skills to match in Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Ability to assess a brief, and manage deadlines and priorities.
  • Project management and communication tools; You're a strong conceptual thinker who understands the importance of the pre-animation stages relating to brainstorming, moodboards, storyboards, styleframes and animatics.
  • Basic knowledge of sound design

We’ll be particularly excited if you have experience in:

  • Creative agency or tech/finance/startup world
  • Data Visualisation
  • 3D graphics (Cinema 4D, Blender)
