The Network Strategy Director is a net new, expert (T4), strategic, and revenue-generating team-leader role within Network Monetisation that is focused on increasing Network revenue. Reporting to the International Head, SAP Business Network Strategy, the Network Strategy Director is responsible for Network adoption by buyers and suppliers through strategic portfolio management across the region.
Task Functions and Responsibilities
- Responsible for regional customer portfolio management with accountability for exceeding revenue growth targets. Directs market unit strategy in collaboration with the Accelerated Adoption Directors (AAD) within the region.
- Development and management of forecasting, account penetration plans, and customer engagement plans that will deliver business outcomes in close collaboration with PMS.
- Conduct customer business and opportunity diagnostics to analyse business case drivers, to identify programme risks and to establish action plans that deliver near term results and continue to improve the processes related to our Network value proposition. Develop and gain customer buy in on customer network roadmap to improve product adoption and maximising the perceived value of the customer’s subscription.
- Work with the regional Vice President, PMS regional leadership and International Head, SAP Business Network Strategy to prioritise high-value customers and focus on the most impactful opportunities to drive spend adoption and increase SAP Business Network yields across the assigned region(s). Create and align on regional and market unit goals around Network growth.
- Act as mentor to Adoption Acceleration Directors on an on-going basis, and backup the International Head, SAP Business Network Strategy where required.
- Participate in Sales cycles ensuring prospects understand the full Business Network value and solution set, and how these apply to the customer’s business case.
- Develop and maintain regional and market unit programme reporting to communicate overall progress around spend, documents, relationships, and revenue against targets. Report on progress towards the attainment of regional Network goals.
- Develop long-term plans to maintain and expand Network growth over a three-year horizon.
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with key decision makers and sponsors within the customer’s Accounts Payable, Treasury, IT and Procurement areas.
- Participate in high value/high opportunity quarterly CRR/QBR meetings with the regional Vice Presidents in relation to the SAP Business Network.
- Serve as the thought leader for how to build industry network connections between buyer and trading partner communities.
Professional and Educational Requirements, Job Related Skills
- 10 years of work experience within a Cloud Business, with at least five or more years work experience in senior Account Management, Consulting or Relationship Management function.
- Excellent programme and project management and customer management competencies.
- Strong influence with internal and external stakeholders, able to move dissatisfied customer base towards referenceable customer base.
- Strong relationship building skills at an executive level.
- Proven Leadership experience with problem solving and innovative mindset.
- Expert knowledge of collaborative procurement, Accounts Payable, Treasury and Working Capital.
- Proven experience with business process transformation and re-engineering disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and at least one other major European language.
- Strong analytical skillset and ability to assist with the management of the customer portfolio priorities.
- MBA or undergraduate degree in business, finance or supply chain management or equivalent work experience.
Performance Standards
The Network Strategy Director is revenue generating and will be assigned to a Revenue Generating Bonus plan. The principle KPI will be Network revenue, with subordinate transactional KPIs. The Network Strategy Director will be expected to meet the targets set by the Bonus plan and performance will be measured against that plan.
Scope and Limits of Authority
The Network Strategy Director will have day-to-day responsibility for directing the work of assigned Adoption Acceleration Director(s) in collaboration with the International Head, SAP Business Network Strategy. However, as an individual contributor, the post-holder will not have direct team management responsibility for assigned Adoption Acceleration Director(s), which remains with the International Head, SAP Business Network Strategy. The Network Strategy Director will be expected to provide input and feedback on the performance of Adoption Acceleration Director(s) assigned to them.
