The role

Custom development activities have emerged driven by RISE with SAP and AI customer use cases. We are supporting our customers with unique solutions to transform their businesses for success and it our duty to shape and adapt our Customer Innovation Services Engineering team to the future of enterprise software.

For this purpose we are looking for a Development Manager to join our team.

The role offers the opportunity to be part of our journey to drive our team and deliver to our customers a wide variety of business processes, industries, technologies and innovative ideas. Being part of our team you will be working with your management peers, Go-to-Market teams, Project Managers, Enterprise & Development Architects, Data Scientists and developers colleagues across EMEA and beyond.

What you'll do

  • Grow a team of highly skilled and motivated engineers including career development and skill enhancement to be always ready for the next technological step.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in software development.
  • Act as a problem solver to address organisational and process challenges, leveraging expertise to bridge gaps.
  • Act as accountable engineering manager for multiple customer projects which includes steering and management of risks and opportunities.
  • Drive cross location initiatives in the areas of best practices, technology, innovation and trainings.
  • Work closely with Go-to-Market and sales teams throughout the entire lifecycle of a project to successfully generate demand for SAP.
  • Be an ambassador of our organization.

What you bring

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Familiar with Generative AI concepts.
  • Poses strong customer focused mindset.
  • Proficient professional network with the local software industry and universities.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experienced in customer interactions including escalations.
  • Ability to build and develop teams from scratch, effectively communicating vision and strategy.
  • Technical knowledge to command the respect of the engineering team.
  • Exposure to & experience in multiple of the following technological areas: S4/HANA development, cloud development, integration and deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Prior experience in one of the programming languages such as ABAP, Python, Java, Javascript, Go.
  • Comply with development standards and methodologies (DevOps, Scrum, quality, security, performance).
  • You show a self-motivating style of working combined with a continuous learning mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
