The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. With its more than 1800 professionals, SAP Labs Bulgaria also has strong contributions toward life-cycle management, user interface & user experience across the broader portfolio of SAP products and has recently welcomed new teams focusing on business applications. What you´ll do

We are looking for a passionate ABAP Developer to join our team in Sofia as a maternity-leave replacement, contributing to exciting global topics and projects. In this role you will:

  • Gain valuable insights into critical Business Processes while engaging directly with our large customer base.
  • Take ownership of the entire development process, from designing and implementing user-friendly UIs to developing robust back-end functionalities and ensuring seamless integration with other SAP products.
  • Work as a fully contributing team member with independent planning & execution responsibilities.
  • Lead a topic independently and take individual ownership of the technical component end-to-end.
  • Work with SAP Integration Suite to integrate cloud-based processes, services, applications, events and data.
  • Follow emerging trends and technologies, particularly in Cloud and Generative AI, and use this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
  • Play a crucial role in pioneering the integration of modern AI capabilities, actively shaping the infusion of Generative AI features right from the beginning. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact and be part of a groundbreaking journey at the core of SAP’s value change.

What you bring

If you are self-driven and flexible, you are a perfect fit for our team. Further role requirements are:

  • Degree in Informatics / Computer science or equivalent subject.
  • Excellent programming and object-oriented design skills (JAVA, ABAP).
  • At least 2+ years of experience
  • Hands-on experience in writing high quality code along with unit tests.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and database design concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and explore new topics.
  • Ability to work with the team in the design and development aspects for the product.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Goal-oriented team player with good communication skills.
  • At least B2 level of English language proficiency – both written and spoken.
