A career in Food and Beverage that gives back! We’re recruiting a Food and Beverage Manager for our brand new café at The Lodge Nature Reserve.

The Lodge is a uniquely special place at the heart of RSPB, offering a rich combination of wildlife and heritage experiences. Inclusive and family friendly, it is one of our top visitor reserves, and a significant source of support and income for the Society, with a shop, natural play area, six miles of nature trails, and gardens. Our café will open for the first time this year, reflecting our desire to provide a great experience for 50k-75k visitors.

What does this role look like?
• Leading the Food and Beverage team in day-to-day operations. Coaches the Food and Beverage Team.
• Has commercial awareness, delivers the RSPB brand strategy through Food and Beverage.
• Sets and monitors KPIs and targets to deliver organisational goals.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with F&B, shop, visitor experience, reserve, gardens and HQ staff.
• Is knowledgeable and confident in the RSPB cause, has meaningful conversations with visitors about Food and Beverage, supporting the fight for nature.
• Prepares and serves high quality, fresh food and drink which is sustainably sourced, keeping the environment at the heart of what we do.
• Provides a warm welcome for our visitors.
• Maintains food hygiene and health and safety standards in the work environment, ensuring all team members have completed mandatory training.
• Works in friendly, encouraging teams, with support from colleagues across the organisation.
• Have fun at work, learning every day and meeting new people.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
• A positive outlook, willing to learn and develop new skills and ask for help when needed.
• A genuine desire to deliver amazing experiences for our visitors.
• Can-do attitude, empowering each other to be confident in being curious.
• A passion for good food and drink and the importance of our natural world.
• Level 3 Food Safety.
• Confidence in effective time management.
Desirable knowledge and qualifications:
• Understanding of working EPOS systems. Desirable
• GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent. Desirable
