Café Assistants x2 (Part-Time)

Job Description

Our busy catering operation at RSPB Titchwell Marsh Reserve is looking for two Cafe Assistants to join the team. We are looking for people who can deliver the highest standards and customer care and assist with the day-to-day running of the cafe operation, in line with set RSPB procedures and routines.

RSPB Titchwell Marsh attracts over 80,000 visitors each year and is home to some of Norfolk's incredible wildlife. We want to ensure that every visitor has a brilliant time at our busy nature reserve and wants to come back again and again – this is where you come in: We don’t just want the reserve and its wildlife to excite our visitors, we want our Cafe Assistants to as well!

Essential skills, knowledge and experience required:

• Experience of working in a busy commercial kitchen
• Till operation and payment handling
• Knowledge of food and food service skills
• Computer skills
• Enthusiastic approach to work
• High understanding of the principals of food hygiene
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback
• Ability to work as part of a team.

There are two Fixed Term roles available:

• 8 hours per week: Sat/Sun 11.00am - 3.00pm
• 20 hours per week: Five days on a rota system 11.00am - 3.00pm (will include every Sunday)
• For both positions, you will need to be available to work during the day, weekends, and Bank Holiday working will also be essential.

The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
