The Role
As an associate research consultant, you will work as part of the marketing team to accelerate growth in our academic customer base.You will form a key part of the marketing team, working alongside our existing Research Consultant to leverage your knowledge of academia to help us reach new customers, deliver meaningful content to our academic users, and drive our academic strategy in 2023.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to design, run and publish impactful scientific research, collaborate with and present to researchers from all over the world, and gain experience working in a fast-paced high-growth startup.
What you'll be doing
- Aiding with the design, execution and analysis of large research projects designed to deliver quality insights in the academic space
- Contributing to and delivering external speaking opportunities within universities and at international conferences
- Working alongside researchers to assist them with studies as part of our paid consultancy service
- Developing and experimenting with new growth levers to maximize our growth in academia
- Providing support to other teams across the business on matters related to our academic users
What you’ll bring
- A PhD in a behavioral science discipline (psychology, political science, economics, etc.)
- A background in academia, including robust knowledge of quantitative study design, execution, analysis, and write-up
- Experience with public speaking and presenting scientific content to large and diverse audiences
- A record of first-author high-quality published research
- A passion for behavioral research that you can put to use in helping our customers
Even better if you have
- Postdoc experience
- Experience with online recruitment and survey platforms as well as a knowledge of the current online research landscape
- An interest in startups and a desire to work outside of academia
- Previous marketing experience
- Experience in qualitative research

Our Interview Process
Talent Call: You'll meet with one of our Talent team and have an exploratory call about the role requirements, life at Prolific, as well as your background and aspirations.
Hiring Manager Interview: You'll interview with two members of the team, one of which will be the hiring manager. You'll have the opportunity to ask about the company and the role, and we'll ask you questions about your experiences and goals. Panel Interview: We'll hold a panel interview that evaluates skills required for the role. You'll meet with more of our team and may be asked to complete a presentation or task. You'll be compensated with a £50 voucher 💰 for completing the task because we know your time is valuable! Final Interview: We will deep dive into your past experiences, goals, motivations, and skills all aligned to our Prolific Principles. You'll speak with two to three members of the team and - as always - have an opportunity to ask questions about the role and company.
