At Papercup we’re on a mission to make the world’s videos watchable in any language. We’ve invented a patented AI system that generates humanlike synthetic voices across languages, allowing people to watch video content in the language of their choice. Our translated and dubbed content has allowed the likes of Insider, Discovery, Sky News, and Canva to reach over 300 million people globally in just the last year.Having just completed a $20 million Series A round, we're on the hunt for top people to join our ambitious mission.

We’re backed by some of the industry’s heaviest hitters - venture funds like Octopus Ventures, world-renowned angel investors including Des Traynor (co-founder of Intercom) and John Collison (co-founder of Stripe), as well as global media groups like Sky and Guardian Media Group.

About the role:

We are looking for a driven, attentive and truly customer-focused Senior Account Manager to manage, grow, develop and nurture our key clients. Clients you’ll manage include fantastic companies like Sky News and Business Insider, so to really thrive in this role, you'll need to know the digital video space and be highly adaptable and genuinely enjoy the process of building lasting client relationships.

What you will do with us:

  • Be the main day-to-day point of contact for our key media clients, providing expert input for their social media strategies, and making sure they each have the best possible experience with Papercup at every touchpoint
  • Manage the client relationship end to end, from onboarding to growth across new use cases and teams
  • Work with the wider commercial team to devise and deploy plans to help grow our client's audience or business and ensure our client relationships can flourish over time
  • Act as an internal project manager by liaising with localisation managers, video editors, channel managers and others across our team to ensure we are delivering the best outputs possible
  • You’ll be proactively looking for new avenues for the client to grow, improve the performance of their localised content, and for Papercup to expand revenue opportunities within the account


Your profile

What we are looking for from you:

  • You are genuinely customer-focused and finds real joy in helping customers grow their business
  • Have account management and/or customer success experience, ideally within the video and media space
  • Are hugely detail-oriented and able to happily keep on top of many conversations - time management skills are a must!
  • You are growth-minded and is always looking at creating a ‘win-win’ situation by helping our clients grow, so they increase their order with us
  • Able to communicate with different audiences with a high degree of emotional intelligence and has excellent presentation skills
  • You are confident, professional and business savvy - you'll need to thrive off growing rapport and relationships with clients
  • Love to learn and do not shy away from a challenge - we are a fast-moving machine-learning startup so learning all about new industries as we grow our customer base needs to be something that excites you
  • You are self-motivated and will always take the extra step without being asked. They can spot a challenge coming and anticipate the resources need to overcome it so the client experience goes as smoothly as possible

What would be nice if you have:

  • You don’t need to have experience in the world of AI or machine learning, although you do need to understand - and be excited by - the opportunity to build a new category in video content localisation
  • Have evidence of account expansion and understanding of the ‘land and expand’ tactic
  • Can-do attitude - excited about startups, emerging tech, media et
  • High emotional intelligence + communication skills
  • Some knowledge of the digital media world and/or understand of localisation in an enterprise setting would be great

  • Competitive salary of £55,000 - £70,000 Depending on experience
