The Role

As a member of the Finance team you will take the lead on managing Paddle’s complex and growing tax function. You will report to our Head of Finance and will be responsible for Corporate tax (UK),R&D Cess (UK), US Federal / State income Tax, Franchise Tax and Transfer Pricing arrangements. You will build on an efficient and robust tax compliance environment, designing and implementing a control framework as Paddle continues to grow. The role will also be strategic, as you will need to stay abreast of an ever changing tax landscape and proactively ensure Paddle’s continued compliance.

What you'll do

  • Support the business operationally, on all transactions including go-to-market strategies, to mitigate adverse tax impacts, and manage permanent establishment issues
  • Assist in the review and timely and accurate filing of the direct tax returns for non-US entities supported by external service providers
  • Support the team in preparing provision, R&D credit analysis, Transfer Pricing justification, benefit related tax and other tax related questions.
  • Work with advisors on preparation of all tax US filings and reporting in compliance with all required regulations. Taxes include but are not limited to Federal and state Income Tax, Sales Tax, Use Tax, Gross Receipt and Payroll Tax.Develop recommendations to keep our business compliant with various local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Advise management on future changes to tax regulations and possible impact to the organisation.
  • Support the efforts of tax planning. Evaluate the tax implications of company activities and develop strategies to optimise tax obligations.

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • You have proven experience in a similar role with Corporate tax and Transfer Pricing exposure.
  • You have an ATT/CTA/ADIT or equivalent qualification.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the tax environment for a U.S. multinational group, including transfer pricing
  • You have handled complex, large-dataset Excel and Google spreadsheets in the day-to-day of your previous/current roles.
  • You are able to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines.
  • You are enthusiastic, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
