Job Description

BUSINESS FUNCTION: Programmes GRADE: ML2/SB1 SALARY: £50,211 - £55,932 ROLE TYPE: Hybrid HOURS: 37 per week LOCATION: York, Leeds Join Northern Trains Ltd (NTL) and play ern Trains Ltd (NTL) and play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality, and compliant construction projects across our rail network. We’re looking for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in site management and a passion for safety, quality, and collaboration. What you’ll do:

  • Oversee on-site activities to ensure full compliance with railway standards, CDM regulations, and company procedures.
  • Lead inspections, monitor contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement in safety and workmanship.
  • Support project delivery from design through to handover — ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Work closely with NTL’s project, commercial, and stakeholder teams to ensure seamless coordination and minimal operational impact.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience managing construction projects, ideally within the rail industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CDM, safety management systems, and relevant UK/European standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive, safety-first mindset.
  • Professional membership (e.g., ICE, CIOB) and relevant technical qualifications are highly desirable.
