Job Description
We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to college and corporate training.
In June 2022, we announced our $220m Series D raise, making Multiverse a mission-driven unicorn. This funding will help us to accelerate our growth in the US, where we’re committed to tackling the toughest challenges facing those who seek jobs - and those who provide them.
In our first year in the US, we launched over 20 apprentice cohorts at some of the best companies in America, including the likes of Verizon, Visa, Cisco and Box. Globally, we work with over 500 clients and we’ve been recognized as one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe.
Join us on our journey to democratizing access to the best careers and learning opportunities.
The opportunity
In this role you will help run day-to-day communications activities, leading workstreams and media opportunities while collaborating closely with both our global comms team and US agency. You will get a chance to work on projects across business needs from product launches to client announcements, while helping to increase awareness for an entirely new category of education technology: apprenticeships.
This is also an opportunity to help build and scale a world-class comms team - finding meaningful new ways to increase awareness, build thought leadership, generate press coverage and shape the structure and culture of our team.
This role is hybrid to either our NYC or London offices. You will be expected to commute to one of those locations 1-2 times a week and therefore, should live within a commutable distance.
Specifically, you will:
Oversee media opportunities end-to-end including pitching media, writing talking points, and prepping executives
Engage with and get to know our apprentices to discover storytellers and brand advocates
Coordinate and manage event and conference speaker opportunities, ensuring that spokespeople use their time well by delivering impactful talks in the right places
Help to manage and oversee our partner agencies to set up successful media campaigns
Develop meaningful relationships with business and tech media, education trade and beat reporters
Write, edit and draft compelling communications materials including press releases, blog posts, awards entries and op-eds
Work cross-functionally with content, marketing, community, and product teams to launch corporate news, new programs and clients
Create PR strategy and plans, and provide communications guidance to support our news moments
We are excited about you because:
You are driven by a mission to open access to opportunity and see the capacity for apprenticeships to make a meaningful difference to the lives of apprentices, and the companies who employ them.
You enjoy coaching and improving the story-telling abilities of others, from seasoned executives to early-career apprentices
You have at 3-5 years of in-house or agency experience
You have excellent communications skills both written and verbal
You have a proven track record of executing strategic communications campaigns and the ability to drive media relations and PR programs
Ability to work collaboratively cross functionally and within your team
The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $115,000.

What employees are saying
Especially since our work spans many time zones (US West Coast to UK) there's a lot of flexibility since there are different folks that work together at different times. I can plan early days for when I need to connect with folks that are ahead of me (time zone-wise) or later on days that I'm working with US folks and doing heads-down work. I appreciate that my leaders know that I will get my work done and if I need to go to appointments or take time mid-day, that is supported.
