We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for the opportunity analytics team within the Global business planning function of Microsoft Advertising (MSA). As a Technical Program Manager in MSA, you will focus on understanding monetization performance and opportunities for the global business across regions and/or advertiser segments. In this role you will dive into large amounts of data and gain a multi-dimensional understanding of the levers that drive growth covering our ad platform, publishers, advertisers, and consumers across international markets. One of the major focus areas would be to devise a solid approach that helps translate marketplace trends into identification of advertiser growth opportunities and subsequently working with key stakeholders to build demand programs to drive the activation of these opportunities, and eventually measuring the impact of the programs effectively


This role requires an individual with depth of knowledge of the global advertising space - in particular performance advertising and audience-led buying across search, display, native or programmatic - a keen intellect for generating data driven answers to complex business questions as well as superior communication skills to influence a range of different partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & develop an effective framework to identify growth opportunities through analysis of marketplace, advertiser and monetization trends for the global markets and drive demand programs in partnership with relevant teams to help execute against the opportunities
  • Serve as the key partner to Global Revenue & Business Planning, Market Sciences, and Sales teams on opportunities, programs and measurement.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects with the basic theme of analyzing large quantities of data to generate meaningful actionable insights for our advertisers
  • Collaborate with different parts/teams of the Microsoft Advertising eco system, as required, to leverage diverse assets and tools towards solving on-demand business problems
  • Showcase thought leadership by unlocking newer and lesser explored areas of driving sustainable advertiser demand growth through effective monitoring of demand performance, quality, and diversification including the development of suitable frameworks and building the case for Leadership team buy-in, where appropriate.
  • Research evolving industry trends and our competitive landscape to understand implications for our business and advertiser base – develop and land strategic recommendations with our business leadership.
  • Be a Strategic Advisor: Provide thought leadership, advice, influence and insight to partners across other teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: strategy/management consulting, business planning, media/advertising, market research, product management, or financial modeling.
  • Experience with turning large scale data into actionable insights and decisions.
  • Experience applying sophisticated analytics to solve complex business questions.

Other Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on approach to data analysis / data mining with a strong focus on quality. Experience with MS Excel, SQL and PowerBI.
  • Experience in the digital marketing industry, preferably in search advertising and/or programmatic display and native advertising.
  • Experience utilising communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to engage with business partners and executives to drive.
  • Experience in an environment requiring critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
