Job Description
We’re looking for a Technology Specialist (Apps & Innovation) to join our Digital Natives team in the UK. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of cloud-native architecture, designing systems that fully leverage the cloud’s unique capabilities, including scalability, automation, and cost efficiency.
As part of a virtual team of technical, partner, and consulting resources, you’ll educate customers at a technical level, demonstrating and proving our solutions to influence technical decisions. This role also offers the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise across both Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud technologies, such as Containers, DevOps, AI and modern Software Development Lifecycles.

Responsibilities
As a Technology Specialist, you will own and win the technical decision of customers by demonstrating the value of Microsoft’s cloud services, and gaining our customers’ trust in Azure for their workloads, tools, and data. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical guidance on Azure application innovation, including PaaS, DevOps, and advanced app coding techniques.
- Assisting customers with app modernization strategies and the technical architecture required to implement comprehensive solutions on Azure, leveraging best practices.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of orchestration tools like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), helping customers to manage, scale, and deploy containerized applications seamlessly.
- Architecting solutions that efficiently support multi-tenancy, enabling optimised resource utilisation and cost-effectiveness without compromising on isolation and security between tenants.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to our top clients, helping them incorporate Azure app development services into their overarching cloud strategy, and recommending migration paths and architectures that include Azure PaaS services.
- Conducting architectural design sessions to establish implementation plans aligned with customer business objectives and their technical infrastructure.
- Guiding customers through complex scenarios involving hybrid and multi-cloud container deployments, ensuring seamless integration and management across various platforms.
- Addressing a range of customer readiness challenges including security, performance, scalability, and intellectual property considerations.
- Engaging with customers and collaborating with account and partner teams to drive new opportunities, resolve technical obstacles, and contribute strategies to expedite deal closure.
- Remaining continually abreast of advancements and trends in cloud app development to ensure our team and our solutions stay at the industry's forefront.
- Influencing Azure app innovation strategy by advocating for customer needs and requirements.
- Being an Azure Platform evangelist, inspiring customers, partners, and the external community, fostering developer communities through various outreach activities.
Qualifications
With your ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation and your determined and adaptable style, you will be a key driver of Microsoft’s ambitions to partner with the largest start-ups and digitally native organisations in the world. To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Practical knowledge of cloud architecture patterns and practices, software development lifecycle and secure by design concepts on building software.
- Extensive experience in a technical pre-sales or technical consulting role
- Experience with cloud and hybrid, or on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management
- Experience working in startups or with startups, and knowledge of the startup ecosystem
- Regular interaction with senior level decision-makers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience
