Job Purpose/Overview
- The Senior Indirect Tax Analyst is responsible for managing and executing activities related to the calculation, control, and compliance of indirect tax obligations.
- This role includes overseeing the daily operations of a team of junior and mid-level tax analysts and tax assistants, ensuring efficient task execution and fostering team development.
- Additionally, the Senior Analyst will lead strategic tax projects focusing on process improvement and regulatory compliance.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 5 years relevant transactional tax experience
- Expertise in complex tax projects;
- Experience in the big 4 company is desirable;
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field (such as Law);
- Hands-on experience in tax-related projects and process automation;
- Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus;
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in Tax Management, Finance, or related areas is a plus;
- Project management certifications are a plus.
- Experience maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation and compliance software (desirable SAP, SATI, TaxOne);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Highly organized, self-motivated and detail oriented;
- English skills - Intermediate;
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Support for tax planning projects;
- Respond to ad-hoc requests;
- Oversee internal tax processes to ensure compliance with current tax regulations;
- Prepare management reports to support strategic decision-making;
- Provide technical support for internal and external audits;
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and align strategies to mitigate risks;
- Document workflow, procedures, checklists, and policies for assigned tasks;
- Plan and lead tax-related projects, including tax recovery initiatives, compliance automation, and system implementations;
- Strategically delegate tasks to ensure efficiency and adherence to deadlines;
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery;
- Provide guidance to the team;
- Perform and/or supervise the calculation and filing of indirect taxes (PIS, Cofins, ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI and ISSQN);
- Ensure accurate preparation and submission of tax ancillary obligations (SPED Fiscal, EFD Contribuições, GIA, GIA-ST, DCTF, etc);
- Prepare and/or review tax accounting reconciliations;
- Foster the professional and technical development of team members.
