Sr. Scientist Global Q&FS Allergen Standard

The Sr Scientist Global Q&FS Allergen role is responsible to lead the development, deployment and continuous improvement of our Allergen management requirements within the Allergen standard for all of Mars, Inc. across all segments.

It owns the evolution and maintenance of Q&FS Allergen standard and the required practices and tools to meet internal and external quality expectations and be safe and legal.

This role has full ownership for Allergen standards/documents/structure of document hierarchy and for the full lifecycle, including develop, maintain, deploy, train, and govern. The role governs and verifies implementation of the Allergen requirements, partnering with stakeholders across the division and segment to ensure ongoing progress. and will play a key role in influencing stakeholders to ensure adherence to the Allergen standard.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in a science field, preferably in food safety science

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an operational Q&FS environment

  • Deep technical expertise in Q&FS standards and governance

  • Demonstrated knowledge of allergens and allergen management

  • Experience working with R&D, Supply, Commercial and Activity Management

  • Strong knowledge and proven implementation of standards and quality management across organizational layers (i.e. business units, manufacturing sites, market units, etc.) as well as their interaction and governance expectations

  • Knowledge of metrics, statistics and reporting methods to interrogate audit output data and identify insights for improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence senior leaders and their teams across all segments, all regions and across multiple functions.

  • Strong planning and project management skills.

What would your key responsibilities be?

  • Lead the development of the Allergen standard, principles for allergen management, technical specifications, procedures and risk assessment tools.

  • Lead the creation of the deployment tool kit and training tools to effectively evolve and maintain the Allergen standard.

  • Lead the development of compliance reporting tools, alignment of compliance metric targets for the Allergen standard.

  • Govern performance and drive standardization and continuous improvement of the Allergen standard compliance.

  • Lead the cross-region and cross-segment Allergen Communities of Practice providing a forum for the development and communication of best practices and learnings across the business.

  • Define training competency and maintain calibration requirements for the Allergen standard.

  • Manage stakeholder communications related to the Allergen standard, including escalation of key findings.

  • Support Technical and Internal audits for Mars Wrigley Division to verify adequacy and compliance of current business processes.
