An exciting opportunity to join the Mars site in Birstall (Petcare) as a Reliability/Multi Skilled Technician has become available.

What are we looking for?

• To diagnose and fix plant and site services reliability and breakdown issues across entire factory whilst on duty.

• To provide technical management of shift, responsible for the safe and efficient running of all assets

• To provide final port of call for line operatives in diagnosing reasons for plant not running to Standard Operating Conditions as the highest technical skill within day to day operation of factory

• To drive the CI plan for designated area of factory along with Days Reliability Engineer (asset value c. £5 Million) in line with the priorities set by the Operations Manager

• To be a member of the shift management team, providing shift leadership for day to day running of the factory, FMOS execution, PET technical management, coaching and support for line associates.

• To perform the days control technician role as part of the days rotation assignment

• Responsible for delivery of technical training to shift associates and apprentices having responsible for technical upskilling plan for their shift

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Accountable for reliability of equipment during shift with a geographic area covering the whole of the Birstall Site, covering 5 product technologies; Cooker Extrusion, Meat Extrusion, Baking, packing machinery, fish flake production and site infrastructure and services.

• Completes the following training and validation of others:

• Basic and Advanced Electrical training for zone tech leaders

• Advanced Mechanical training validation

• Completes training of all shift with technical standards (eg LOTO)

• Support the Technical Leaders with Basic Mechanical training and validation for new starters (zone B3’s)

• Completes capital improvement projects, (£70-100k) from justification and tendering to delivery
