Project Lead/Value Leadership Lead (12 month fixed term contract)

We are looking for a Lead for our European Value Leadership program and to join our Strategic Initiatives team within Commercial, based in Slough (hybrid home working). This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Strategic Initiatives team oversees and drives initiatives in pursuit of maximizing Mars Wrigley’s European value delivery. These initiatives include developing a toolset to drive procurement functional excellence, and a balanced scorecard to steer the team and ensure results delivery year on year.

We are embarking on a number of initiatives to boost our Value Delivery in the region in 2023. This role will be our Lead on Value Leadership for the European Region.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a background in Directs Buying and strong Project Management experience. We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving business process and ways of working. The successful candidate will be well organised with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple responsibilities.

A pragmatic approach to problem-solving is essential combined with commercial awareness to ensure that requirements are achievable and aligned with the business strategy.

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Delivery of VL Targets and maximise YE value delivery against our pipeline sufficiency

  • Roll out of process improvements for Prime Project Execution, Barrier Escalation, and Project Reporting/Management (maximising existing governance forums to accelerate project approvals for VL initiatives)

  • Lead VL Process Change Management in the region (where required)

  • Utilise VL dashboards, partnering with MW Global Commercial Centre of Excellence to ensure effective monitoring of VL Pipeline and VL performance shape

  • Support SSMs to develop project proposals for appropriate forums. Accelerate pace at which New Project Requests are prepared to fast track approval requests and effectively prioritise project resources.

  • Accelerate project phasing for VL initiatives from Identified/Concept/Scoping to In Progress and Completion.

  • Scope Next Level Supplier productivity program through Value Hunt Initiatives. Prepare an assessment of how we operationalise this in the region.
