The key purpose for the Principal Technologist Material Compliance role is to ensure Mars Wrigley MQM and PQM compliance for all Raws and Packaging materials used in the manufacturing processes across the MW Europe Region. In doing so, you will be supporting protecting the Mars Wrigley supply chain from Q&FS, Legal and Consumer lifestyle hazards associated with raw and packaging materials.

The Principal Technologist Material Compliance associate will primarily be responsible for the system creation and workflow management of Material Risk Assessments (MRAs), Specifications and Inspection Plans. The associate will also have the opportunity to assist other compliance aspects of the Mars QMP including the support of quality conformance audits. The associate will be required to utilise specialised technical and process knowledge in performing their duties and deliver results through defined tasks and systems. The incumbent will be expected to show personal initiative and must display excellence in execution and communication, coordinating activities across a number of teams across the Mars Wrigley business (both Global, Regional and site-based).

As a member for the regional QMP and Food Safety team, the Principal Technologist Material Compliance requires good knowledge in Quality Systems and/or Raw or Packaging Risk Assessment and specifications.

The associate will be capable and comfortable working autonomously, whilst able to work well with a wide range of stakeholders, creating a broad network of associates across different sites and regions.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications & Skills

  • BSc Degree in Food Technology, Dietetics, Food & Business or similar field.
  • Knowledgeable in Quality management tools & systems with preferred Quality and/or Raw Material technical experience (e.g. HACCP)
  • IT & data analysis skills
  • Good Verbal & Written Communication skills

Experience

  • Knowledgeable in Quality management tools & systems as well as technical Quality & Food Safety experience (e.g. HACCP).
  • Knowledge and experience working continuously with IT systems and is able to quickly learn new and complex processes.
  • Comfortable working autonomously, whilst having good written and verbal communication skills and peer relationship competencies.
  • Experience working with Raw Materials and/or Packaging Materials (e.g. risk assessments or technical assessments) in the food industry (preferable)
  • Experience working with Raw Material and/or Packaging Material specifications in the food industry (preferable).

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Manage and update regional, standardised Material Risk Assessments (MRAs) and Packaging Risk Assessments (PRAs) in conjunction with cross-functional teams to ensure MARS Material Quality Management compliance.
  • Manage MRA/PRA tracking and reporting, whilst providing input and support for Continuous Improvement related to Material Compliance and systems Development.
  • Administering and maintaining Raw Material and Packaging Material Specifications for existing MARS materials in the designated MARS specification system and working cross-functionally to ensure compliance.
  • Review of MRA/PRAs, Specifications and Inspection Plans according to MARS MQM/PQM Standard and Change Management guidelines. Working with other
