The factory innovation engineer is a key role within the Delivery System 2 R&D organization. They drive market-leading innovations together with complex freedom to operate initiatives, through working with the global R&D teams, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial in both internal and external factories. They will also have responsibility for assisting the development of the detailed specification for running conditions of any new process for current or new factories within the DS2 scope and work hand in hand with regional DS1 partners.
This position requires deep technical know-how to execute a program of projects, looking at new perspectives to solve existing and new factory process solutions. The job holder has the excellent drive for results, great project management skills, a creative and entrepreneurial growth mindset, and an ability to create strong networks and relationships to drive the innovation agenda. They work independently with some guidance to deliver the allocated programs.
What are we looking for?
Essential
Proven Project management skills typically acquired through 3-5 years of professional experience in leading projects or as a technical member on cross-functional teams
Hands-on experience in the development and launch of new products, packages and processes
Experience working in factories as well as Lab or pilot plants and managing scale-up between these facilities
Non-Essential / Preferred
Well-developed persuasion and influencing skills
Collaboration skills with different cultures
Experience working within Flexible and hybrid teams
What will be your key responsibilities?
Plans, executes and delivers all factory innovation trials, scale up and commercialization of DS2 initiatives by following the DfVS process
Working with and leading technical teams across the confectionary portfolio and across internal and external factories.
Connects with peers in other regions, other R&D functions and DS2 to share best practices, and accelerate the global deployment of new innovations
Applies technical knowledge to solving complex problems across recipe, product, process and packaging.
Regional /and/or global travel can be expected ~20% of the time
