The location of this role is in PHILIPPSBURG

As Site Manager you will have the full accountability for P&L and operations of the Warehousing and Distributions products for the site. By managing the products for the site, you have a significant impact on the short- and long-term financial and operating objectives as set by the overall regional business plan. You will be leading, guiding and developing the operational activities of multiple products within a large area or multiple smaller areas with moderate to significant impact on Business Unit results. With your operational management skills can make a difference by supporting and enabling the Maersk Wnd product families and value proposition to our clients being either stand alone or part of a global supply chain solution.

Key responsibilities


Reporting to the Area WnD Manager, you have responsibility for providing expertise for business planning and budgeting in the function. Approving policies and procedures for the Area Operations function that contribute to the overall regional operations plan. Against the targets for the various functions, you are accountable for setting and monitoring the performance for the Area Operations. As an experience team manager you will lead, guide and develop a team to ensure the Area achieves its objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Profit & Loss

  • P&L responsible for the site. Covering all products and clients offered at this site
  • New and existing customer management
  • Contract management
  • Site performance (cost/utilization)
  • Continuous improvement & optimization of assets
  • Investment proposals and follow up on the same Product
  • Execution of WND strategy for site in alignment with Area WnD Manager
  • Business development aligned with strategy
  • Develop new customers by liaising with area sales
  • Site implementation
  • Growth targets
  • Product mix
  • Tender handling support to Area WnD Manager
  • Expand business footprint while ensuring profitable growth
  • Customization and localization of the products within the framework
  • Cross functional support to Area WND Manager


Operational excellence

  • Manage the operations of the location
  • HSSE & compliance adherence
  • Manage subcontractors needs and used at this location for WnD services
  • Drive compliance & regulatory adherence
  • Sites operating basis security / IT standards

General management

  • Lease administration
  • Contract management
  • Drive adherence to governance framework


People

  • Facilitate the execution training linked to products, solutions and clients
  • All people and safety aspects
  • Having the best place to work and taking care for our clients

We are looking for


You have solid site management experience (omnichannel fulfilment) and extensive operational knowledge of WnD. Excellent stakeholder management capabilities with experience to work in an international matrix organization are key to succeed in this role.

Lean thinking and continuous improvement is your second nature and you have developed over the years excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills

You have strong knowledge of local market and culture, and you are strong in dealing with customers. A high level of financial acumen – reading, interpreting and acting on P&L.

Fluent German and English is required.
