Asset Acquisition (Procurement) acquires or procures physical assets for operating Maersk's E2E transport & logistics business such as: seagoing vessels and towing watercraft; containers; terminal assets e.g. cranes, ports/terminals; warehouse assets e.g. depots, yards, CFS, storage; aircraft; trucks; and more.

ESG is one of the strategic enablers for Maersk, and you will be joining a group of passionate people within Sustainable Procurement (SP) team to drive compliance and impact for thousands of suppliers globally through Maersk sustainability standards. In this role, you will own the actions related to the process KPIs (reported externally) and support the team in achieving the targets through portfolio management. The role involves working with cross functional teams in a multi-cultural setting, supporting strategic ESG projects and driving the ESG agenda in a strategic manner.

Individual work ranges from setting objectives and delivering on own work responsibilities to being a leading expert within a given field and influencing long term tactical decisions of the organization.
Progression within this stream reflects increasing depth of professional knowledge, project management capability, and the ability to influence others.
A colleague at this level works independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in a specific area but will need supervision and support on more complex tasks. Knowledge is required for the application of practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes.

Solutioning is through a choice between known alternatives, within the area of expertise and the leader will evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the solution.
The job requires previous work experience in a related area, or practical knowledge obtained via advanced education.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support in driving and implementing the Sustainable Procurement strategy for Maersk Brands
  • Conduct supplier assessments through ESG documentation reviews
  • Own actions to meet the process KPI targets through effective stakeholder engagement
  • Analyse the data, trends and suggest approaches to meet the KPI targets
  • Ensuring timely closure of improvement plans, highlight risks due to non-closure and resolve issues leading to delays
  • Capability to perform and facilitate supplier audits from planning to execution.
  • Understanding the audit report and driving independently the closure of the findings
  • Ability to organize and conduct compliance related training and workshops.
  • Participate in strategic projects and deliver timely results.
  • Become an ambassador of ESG in supply chain through active advocacy with internal and external stakeholders


What are we looking for

  • 3+ years professional experience in sustainability/ESG roles, preferably in sustainable supply chain operations
  • Passion for ESG and excellent understanding of ESG issues in relation to the evolving regulations
  • Proficiency in working with global and cross-cultural stakeholders coupled with a compliance and growth mindset.
  • Be proactive in taking ownership and drive initiatives independently with attention to detail.
  • Ability to adopt change and work in a transforming environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Assertive and result oriented with good Project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creative solution orientation.
  • Collaborative working style and ability drive alignment with key stakeholders and leadership
  • Multi-tasking priorities and stakeholder expectations with a focus on deliverables
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and other languages
  • Proficient in MS applications (Excel, PowerPoint), with a strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, including ESG platforms and other digital solutions.
