Job Description Summary:
Overall sales responsibility for business development, customer relationships and performance of an assigned customer portfolio for a high impact client base in a cluster/geographical area that will create opportunities for Maersk Rail a product.
Primary Responsibilities
- Approximately 10-15 years of experience in Sales or Business development for Ocean and ocean linked land side businesses in particular Carrier Haul for both export and import.
- Manages assigned customers and budget base while increasing share of wallet and market share.
- Pursues and secures new business in line with the business objectives linked to the Carrier Haul.
- Probes and identifies customer needs and provides solutions.
- Builds a good understanding of target customers and the assigned account base.
- Communicates significant trends, rate changes and policies to assigned accounts.
- Researches and understands the territory to identify and establish business contacts with potential customers.
- Research and analyse competition and industry trends.
- Ensures customer relationship management tools are updated on time and are of excellent quality.
- Is typically responsible for high impact customers to the business in any size cluster.
Must Haves
- Mobility and market coverage.
- Experience of working with Rail Operators / Shipping Line / NVOCC.
- Experience in Selling Inland haulage (rail freight) for carriers or operators.
- Worked/Working in North India handling multiple ICDs.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Logistics and Services in products like AIR , LCL, CFS and Road transportation.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen interest in analytics.
