Job Description
About the organization: -
Maersk Customs Services (MCS) aims to transform its fragmented /local products & solutions into an integrated cohesive global solution to enhance its market position, drive growth, and provide exceptional value to customers. By 2030, we envision MCS as a fully integrated, data-driven, and AI-enabled service provider that delivers unparalleled value to our customers. Our vision is to become the global leader in data-driven, AI-enabled customs and trade solutions, revolutionizing how businesses navigate international trade complexities.
About the role: -
As the Platform Product Owner for AI/ML Advanced Analytics, you will own the global customs data product portfolio across business products—from data‑driven consultancy and core services to control‑tower capabilities. You’ll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our Data‑as‑a‑Service (DaaS) offerings and the analytics/ML capabilities that power MCS Customs Data products (e.g., classification assistance, risk scoring, anomaly detection, duty optimization, forecasting, and FTA screening). You will translate customer and operational data needs into scalable data pipelines and ML services, and steward them end‑to‑end—from discovery and prototyping through reliable, compliant operation at scale—with strong attention to AI governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: -
Product strategy & discovery
· Set the vision and outcome‑based roadmap for analytics and ML across Customs business products, with clear OKRs, KPIs and success metrics.
· Lead customer and user discovery to surface high‑value use cases; quantify impact and translate findings into a prioritized backlog.
· Balance a portfolio of foundational data products and applied ML services (models, APIs).
· Lead a cross-functional squad (Data/ML Engineering, BPOs, Domain SMEs) to deliver iteratively with strong release hygiene, experimentation, and telemetry.
· Define data contracts and quality SLAs for model‑critical datasets; ensure lineage and metadata are in place.
· Apply AI Policy and Adoption Standard: register systems, classify risk, ensure explainability and human‑in‑the‑loop where required.
Stakeholder leadership & communication
· Align Business, Process, and Platform product owners through the 3PO/3PDF stage gates; facilitate architecture reviews; produce crisp decision docs and PRFAQs for leadership.
· Drive adoption with FPO/BPO counterparts and customers via enablement, accurate measure and report adoption outcomes.
Strategic Contribution:
· Participate in wider decision-making processes, contributing to the development of practices, processes, and procedures.
· Work independently within a broad framework, solving complex challenges and considering the broader impact of decisions on the organization.
· Collaborate with other functions to ensure seamless integration and implementation of solutions across the company.
Qualifications
Must‑have
· 6–10+ years in product management/ownership for data/ML‑powered products with evidence of shipping to scale and delivering measurable outcomes.
· Hands‑on solution evaluation, vendor scorecards, PoV/PoC design, benchmarking.
· Hand-on customer centricity products and working backwards methodology to enable the data products as a valuable product for Customers.
· Working knowledge of AI governance & risk (registration/categorization, acceptable use, privacy/security, explainability, human oversight).
· Operating model fluency (3PO/3PDF) with strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills (OKRs, roadmaps, decision docs).
· Customs/trade/supply chain domain is a high advantage.
