Job Description

How insurance is underwritten here hasn't changed in 300 years – until now. At Ki, we are genuinely solving problems that haven’t been solved with technology in the insurance space. We are building the first fully digital and data-led insurance platform in the London Market. Ki is used by the world’s leading insurance brokers to provide cover for their clients against some of the planet’s biggest risks. We are the first movers in this space. Think challenger bank, but for complex risks like hurricanes and natural disasters.

Having reached c.$1bn of Gross Written Premium in the first three years of trading, and becoming a Top 20 Lloyd’s of London syndicate, Ki is launching a Technology Services function and Transformation Programme to enhance our technological capabilities and streamline processes. The programme will transform Ki’s internal-facing technology services across all business functions, including Actuarial & Risk, Underwriting & Distribution, Finance, HR, Legal, Operations, Claims and IT.

We are a forward-thinking, dynamic company with a solid financial foundation and exciting growth plans. At the forefront of the insurance industry transformation, we leverage cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. Our mission is to revolutionize the insurance landscape, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and contribute to our multi-million-pound transformation programme.

Are you passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive business transformation? As a Google Cloud Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic and rapidly expanding team. You will architect, manage, and optimize our Google Cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the organization. This role is crucial in supporting our ambitious transformation to a hybrid cloud estate, enhancing our infrastructure, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our Google Cloud suite. Join us to make a significant impact, drive innovation, and help shape the future of our digital workplace. You’ll be working alongside a Microsoft Specialist and over time we hope you will support each other to ensure the stability and scalability of our estate. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Cloud Technology Group (CTG) teams, who will be supporting the front-of-house systems, while you manage the mid-back-office systems.

Your focus will be on:
• Architect and Approve Designs: Develop and approve architectural designs within the Google Cloud suite to meet diverse business needs.
• Manage Google Cloud Environment: Oversee the Google Cloud environment, including organization management, landing zones, and system configurations.
• Environment Provisioning: Provide and manage environments for various applications and services, ensuring they meet organizational requirements.
• Training and Development: Mentor and train team members on Google Cloud tools and best practices, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Automation: Automate routine tasks using tools like Google Cloud Functions and Terraform to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
• Project Management: Lead small projects to improve the Google Cloud estate or create environments for mid/back-office systems.
• Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project teams to support the deployment and integration of SaaS solutions hosted on GCP or Azure.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security policies and compliance measures within the Google Cloud environment.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Provide 3rd line support for Google Cloud issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure optimal performance and support for Google Cloud services.
• User Adoption: Drive user adoption of Google Cloud tools through training sessions, workshops, and user guides.

Our culture:
Inclusion & Diversity is at the heart of our business at Ki. We recognise that diversity in age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, thought and social background bring richness to our working environment. No matter who you are, where you’re from, how you think, or who you love, we believe you should be you.

You’ll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package. This is kept under constant review to make sure it stays relevant. We understand the power of saying thank you and take time to acknowledge and reward extraordinary effort by teams or individuals.

Ki Values:
• Know Your Customer: Put yourself in their shoes. Understand and balance the different needs of our customers, acting with integrity and empathy to create something excellent
