Our clients include Google, Apple, Microsoft and public sector organizations such as the Department of Transport and Transport for West Midlands.

The C++ Developer role

We are looking for a talented C++ Developer to join our team at Ito World. You will be developing software solutions that gather, enhance and deliver schedule and real-time data into a single aggregated feed for an entire city.

As a key member of the team, you will be working in an environment that values your enthusiasm and ideas as well as your development skills and experience.

Ito World has a flexible and remote working culture and will consider applicants that want to work fully remote from anywhere in the UK. We also have an office in Cambridge to accommodate those who prefer to work onsite / hybrid.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the C++ Developer will be:

• Working as part of an open, collaborative team
• Developing the technology that underpins our platforms for handling scheduled and real-time data.
• Expanding our range of importers and exporters for handling large volumes of disparate data.
• Building online services for the management of complex datasets.

As well as these, you will be expected to demonstrate best practices for the software development process, including unit testing, code reviews, Continuous Integration and documentation.

What skills the C++ Developer will have

We would expect you to be educated to degree level and show skills in the following areas:

• 3+ years’ experience of C++ development in a commercial environment
• Design and implementation of RESTful services
• Interface with back-end databases, relational and/or NoSQL
• Experience handling, analysing and distributing large amounts of complex data.
• Developing software in a Linux environment
• An innovative and creative approach to software development
• Meeting tight deadlines and positively manage changes to workload

Other skills that would be desirable include Java, Jira (or some other sprint/issue tracking system), Git, Docker and cloud based systems.

The C++ Developer will also need to be a good communicator, who is self motivated and has an eye for attention to detail. We are passionate about the quality of our software, not just how it's written but also how it's tested and deployed.
