Job Description

We are looking for a TechOps Specialist to join us at INSHUR; we are based in sunny Brighton (sea, chips and seagulls included), and we split our work between home and the office (hybrid working), which typically involves working from our Brighton office at least once a week. We prioritise face-to-face over remote work for planning and workshops but we welcome everyone working remotely when getting on with their work as long as it doesn’t impact team deliverables.

You’ll be working on re-inventing insurance in exciting markets across multiple territories, including the UK, New York and the Netherlands, and new European countries and US states as we expand.

Supported by (and reporting to) the IT & Platform Manager, you'll be joining a friendly team of 3 who believe in good quality service, teamwork, and timely delivery. We aim to focus on solutions, not problems and are always looking for ways to improve our processes - within our team and business-wide.

Requirements

As a member of Technology Operations, you will be responsible for our company’s productivity hardware and software, including all laptops and peripherals. You’ll help develop our internal IT processes, be responsible for the budget set for hardware and software purchases as required, and also be accountable for ensuring colleagues’ technology works as expected.

We don’t have a definitive checklist of skills - our hiring process is more about aptitude and passion than ticking boxes. So don’t worry if you’ve not used a particular tool or checked off all the listed skills and experience.

Below is a guideline of skills that we think would make you successful in this role.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have plenty of experience with IT support as an Analyst or Technician
  • Have experience supporting Mac and Windows devices remotely, using enterprise device management tools such as Jamf and Intune
  • You have experience managing users and applications in Google Workspace or similar IAM platform.
  • Are an ambitious doer with a curiosity for all things Technology
  • Know what it takes to make sure a busy office has the right technology
  • Understand that life is better when things just work smoothly
  • Are passionate about developing your role and taking more responsibility as you gain experience

  • Smooth delivery of hardware and software for our colleagues, particularly new starters
  • Providing a first class support service for our colleagues experiencing tech issues
  • Maintaining a robust knowledge base on processes and systems to allow for knowledge sharing across the team and wider company
  • Integration of our various systems and platforms to allow for automation as well as to reduce effort and risk
  • A focus on security for all our hardware, software and company data

Our budget for this role is between £30,000 - £40,000.
