Reporting to the VP of Product, the Head of Product Operations is a member of the Product Management senior leadership team and is responsible for scaling the product organisation and their capabilities, by holding the product teams accountable for their outcomes and putting into place best practice methodologies to facilitate better communication and collaboration with Product and the rest of the organisation. Putting tools and processes in place to give the Product Management function what they need to be more effective in their roles - but NOT doing this for them, working with them and the Product Management leadership team to discover what efficiencies need to be made and introducing these for the Product Management function to then run with these autonomously.

This is a highly visible role and a great opportunity to influence Infogrid’s product discipline maturing and scaling to support the product vision being achievable and the overall business direction to scale and at pace.

Infogrid is growing quickly and this leadership role will be responsible for both growing and mentoring the newly formed Product Operations team inclusive of career and succession planning, coaching, and mentorship while also enabling a best-in-class Product Operations organisation through process, planning, and requirement standards that improves engineering velocity, significant growth of our platform capacity which in turns ensures a seamless and engaging customer experience.

Infogrid’s culture is very fast-paced and extremely ambitious, lean on process with a distaste for bureaucracy and a focus on maintaining an environment that is as flat and approachable as possible and a rigour for ensuring an MVP business process and improvement approach we also have a Business Agility team and an Engineering Operational team this role will work closely with.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up the function: alongside the VP Product, define the outcome from introduction of the Product Operations role and the hiring approach for a small team of Senior Product Operations Managers.
  • Team Management: Help grow and nurture the Product Operations team by creating a culture of trust, agility, innovation, and fun, mentoring and coaching the team you create autonomously.
  • Tool & Process: establish internal best practices, by introducing new processes, refining existing processes and creating new tools to make the running and overall effectiveness and transparency of the Product Management team optimal whilst ongoing ensuring team members are using tools and processes that have been introduced effectively. Metric - increased satisfaction across the org on how effectively Product communicates and collaborates with each dept. Derived from Quarterly Product Pulse.
  • Data: put into place methodology and process to collects, organise, and analyse quantitative and qualitative product data and enables the entire organisation to make the most of their insights. Data can include everything from product usage and product stickiness to customer feedback, feature rollout - time to market managing and facilitating the funnel of ideation from feature requests management to hosting triage clinics , and facilitating prioritisation of BAU (non incident) support tickets.
  • Metric - increased SLA response on BAU Bugs, Idea generation response in Aha, time to market, Product Engagement metrics such as NPS)
  • Unlock roadblocks at a variety of levels and cultivate collaboration across Infogrid through leadership, creativity, intelligence, and presence.
  • Ensure the rest of the company has continuous visibility into product plans and execution.
  • Be responsible for end-to-end program execution across teams / groups, including scope, budgets, resource plans, risk management, communication, issue/conflict resolution, change management and dependency management.
  • Own and deliver metrics and scorecards providing transparency and accountability of overall program portfolio health and progress.
  • Work with others across the company to drive process improvements and use metrics to improve transparency, overall team performance and efficiency around key cross-org programsEmbrace a "buck stops here" and honest attitude: being proactive in removing blockers and contributing to raising team performance and implementing best practices.
  • Establish clear, aligned goals and direction; provide candid feedback and coaching to maximise team competency, support career management and development of direct reports.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrable leadership experience in product operations roles; particularly in modern, scalable distributed applications.
  • Proven product operations experience with success in transforming teams, introducing significant efficiencies and improvements to the product management function you supported.
  • Proven track record of delivering results within a cross-functional team – articulating tradeoffs, mediating opposing viewpoints, and negotiating solutions.
  • Must be a natural collaborator, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • The individual must be disciplined and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and capability to interact and influence across multiple levels and organisations internal and external.
  • Inherent understanding of the need to act as a Product Operations Manager, not just a Head of Product Operations as the team is built up from scratch under your direction.
  • Data driven. Able to analyse and act on data relevant to the product management discipline. Able to work with Data Analysts to produce deep insights into product usage, adoption and predict future trends.
  • Significant team leadership experience of managing Product Operations Managers
  • ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comprehensive understanding of release management practices, Agile software development methodologies and domain specific best practices
  • Experience in leading transformation in Program Management with use of Agile tools such as Aha!, Confluence, and Jira
  • Experience working in matrixed organisations and influencing non-direct reports to consensus and solutions at all levels of an organisation
  • Passion for data, business intelligence, Machine Learning and AI
