Responsibilities
What a User Researcher role at hedgehog lab looks like
- As a User Researcher at hedgehog lab you’ll work across multi-disciplinary teams with designers, product managers and engineers to help design and build research driven products.
- You’ll be the voice of the user, always putting the audience first making sure at all stages we always know what we’re building, who we’re building for and why/what the problems are we’re trying to solve.
- You’ll be familiar with different research methodologies and understand when to use them.
- You will be a skilled communicator and understand the art of asking the right questions and you’ll also be an active listener and be comfortable in the awkward silences.
- You will already be equipped in how to gather insights from user needs and you will be able to observe attitudes, emotions, and patterns of behaviours that will help with product decisions.
- You’ll understand how to make your research understandable and actionable
- You’ll use evidence collected to build confidence and buy in with key stakeholders across the business and work closely with our clients to create confidence in key design decisions being made.
Must have requirements
- You will have experience of working on qualitative and quantitative research projects and integrating user research into product designs and design practices
- You will already be working on a UX team with designers, product management and engineering partners as part of the product development process
- You’ve conducted research within the digital and/or mobile product space
- You have client management experience and can design research engagements around business needs
- You’ve selected appropriate research methodologies while considering timelines and constraints
- You’re comfortable designing and conducting interviews, surveys, ethnographic research, usability tests, competitive landscapes, secondary research (e.g. literature reviews), etc
- Ability to creatively target and recruit participants
- You can recognise patterns, disentangle confounding variables, and synthesise information
- Experience presenting complex ideas to clients and team members in a compelling and actionable way
Nice to have
