We are looking for a QA Engineer who can help us deliver great products & digital solutions to our customers across the globe. Ideally, you will have a great passion for supporting the development and maintenance of large-scale mobile and web applications, with hundreds and thousands of users covering an existing global user base.

This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Whilst we value and encourage remote working, recognising its numerous benefits, we also recognise the importance of connection, real social interaction and the power of in-person workshops and critical agile ceremonies. As we've adapted to life after lock-downs, we've learnt that most of our employees want the option of working in a well equipped office and having face to face engagements. It is mandatory to have permission to work in the UK legally.

Responsibilities

  • Work across all projects to monitor and drive quality
  • Write test cases, work in a SCRUM team
  • Carry out manual testing and develop and manage automated testing scripts
  • Monitor usability, performance and accessibility of our apps
  • Contribute to and drive the continual development of our internal testing processes
  • Monitor, track and report on bugs / issues

Must have requirements

  • Essential: 3+ years of hands on commercial experience of QA testing native mobile and web apps
  • Desired: experience of automated mobile testing using TestProject, Appium or equivalent
  • Desired: experience of automated cross-browser web testing using Selenium, Cypress or equivalent
  • An aptitude and openness to learning new skills and technologies
  • Strong opinions on what goes into making a quality application around areas including performance, usability and stability.
  • A solid understanding of test plans and ideally TestRail
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines
  • Working knowledge of Git, Continuous Integration, and other supporting systems
  • An understanding of SCRUM/agile methodologies
