POSITION: Permanent, Full Time

LOCATION: Fully remote/Exeter University

SALARY: £32,300 - £39,000 per annum

THE OPPORTUNITY

The post holder will undertake and complete the CYP IAPT CBT course at Exeter University whilst providing CBT interventions treatment to children, young people and their families within Healios. The post holder is responsible for providing comprehensive, holistic psycho-social assessment and interventions, which includes a CBT focus, for children and adolescents presenting with mental health difficulties, and their families/carers. The post holder will also be required to offer specialist knowledge and skills on a range of mental health issues and offer liaison, consultation, learning and development, as appropriate. Upon successful completion of the course and achieving BABCP accreditation the successful candidate will be offered a Healios Practitioner role within the clinical team.

The course you will be completing at the University of Exeter as part of this role is a Level 2 accredited course with BABCP. This means that upon completion of the course trainees will meet criteria to apply for provisional accreditation as a CBT therapist with the BABCP.

To be appointable to this post, you must meet the criteria for CBT training and also have a BABCP-recognised professional background in mental health or related areas. If you do not have a Core Profession, you must complete a portfolio of evidence to show that you have equivalent training and experience. To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • Recognised Core Profession with the relevant professional body (or KSA route)
  • Post-qualifying training/experience in therapeutic interventions
  • Evidence of continuous post-qualifying professional development
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders in children and young people, and their impact on both the client group and their families/carers
  • Knowledge and experience of risk assessment and risk management planning with high risk young people
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Experience and understanding of Safeguarding Children and other relevant legislation and policies
  • Demonstrable experience of working in front-line children and young people mental health services across a range of mental illnesses
  • Real passion for supporting people to improve their lives
  • A desire to become part of a collaborative environment and share knowledge and learning for the benefit of all
  • A curious mind-set that underpins your continuous drive to challenge the status quo for achieving better outcomes
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carer and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
