LOCATION: Home based role with occasional trips to the office in London (4-8 times a year)

THE OPPORTUNITY
- Provide technical leadership in all aspects of infrastructure and platform support, including establishing baselines for performance, efficient and effective delivery pipelines, production health, and excellent security posture. Work closely with engineering squads to understand their needs, pain points and priorities.
- Own cloud infrastructure balancing developer experience with security, reliability, performance. Understand the organisational context and priorities; based on that define, build and implement solutions in a collaborative cross-functional squad.
- Build and maintain tooling, self-service capabilities and solutions that can be used by engineering squads enabling squad autonomy, velocity and confidence.
- Lead and evangelise technical standards, paradigms, guardrails and methodologies that elevate engineering excellence. You may work with squads and engineering leaders to identify common challenges and devise and deliver solutions to these. Seek opportunities to learn, to mentor and guide others.

EXPECTATIONS FOR 3 MONTHS
- You have built strong relationships across the engineering team and stakeholders. You have a good grasp on our business context, products, architecture, security posture, SDLC and practices.
- You have ownership and accountability of our cloud infrastructure, and have developed a roadmap on how to mature our tech stack and increase the developer experience.
- You are leading conversations including improving our time to production, time to recovery, security posture and production health. You have proactively identified and delivered improvements and enabled engineers to use these effectively and confidently.
- You are finding opportunities to learn, mentor and promote best practices in areas of your expertise. Your colleagues count on you for your technical advice. You are working closely with engineering leadership on our technical strategy, approach and how to implement these.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO HEALIOS
- Professional experience in designing, building and running cloud-based and performant infrastructure and production environments (AWS preferred)
- Proven experience with state-of-the-art DevOps tool stack and methodologies
- Evangelist for cloud security, scalability, reliability, observability
- Proficient in Python, Go or similar
- A desire to become part of a collaborative environment and share knowledge, software engineering best practices and learnings for the benefit of all
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with proven success to influence without authority
