Job Description

Your role in a nutshell;

Freestyle is a digital transformation agency on an exciting growth journey, and this Content Coordinator role will play a pivotal part in that.

Having recently gone through a fun, challenging and really rewarding rebrand project, we’re looking for a creatively minded Content Coordinator to help us maximise on our new brand through a mixture of brave, bold, considered and impactful content across a multitude of channels (primarily digital).

This role sits within our Commercial Faculty and primarily supports the new business function. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and Commercial Growth Director, getting under the skin of the business goals and needs from creative content. You’ll have a hunger to build and develop both your commercial and business acumen in such a way that you’ll understand how content and marketing support overall business growth.

You’ll take ownership of delivering and executing a content plan that supports both lead generation and our employee value proposition (that means you’ll be creating content that talks to both prospects and clients as well as to potential new Freestylers like yourself!).

Before you read any further....just a little reassurance. At Freestyle, we're committed to nurturing, supporting and developing awesome people, so if you're excited about this role but don't feel you meet all the criteria...apply anyway, we love tenacity and we love those who are inspired and excited to learn.

Role objectives;

  • This content role spans across lead generation (70%), general brand awareness (20%) and our Employee Value Proposition (10%), and as such the execution of slick, top notch content across all digital channels will be in support of our wider business goals and objectives across these three areas - with a primary focus on lead generation.

What the day to day might look like (your responsibilities!);

  • Generating, writing and collating written content. This could include challenging and stretching your writing skills to support the generation of thought leadership through blogs and whitepapers, through to more creative copy and content for email and social campaigns. You may also need to coordinate other members of the team and push them to hit content writing deadlines too!

  • Owning our Freestyle ‘blog’ - as well as doing the writing and coordinating this role will be responsible for uploading content and owning the blog space on our Freestyle site.

  • Getting creative! We’re looking for someone who wants to get creative with content across a multitude of platforms and channels from blogs, emails and social media to video and podcasting….within the remit of our strategic business goals, we’ll give you a relatively free rein to create content that is on-brand and designed to help us smash our goals.

  • Owning our social channels. You’ll own our core content channels, namely LinkedIn and Instagram (we dabble with Twitter) and have an appetite and some experience using Tik Tok to support our wider content and marketing strategy. This role will also own our paid social activity - however, panic not, if this isn’t something that you’ve done before we’ll organise some training and support to get you up to speed!

  • We’d love for this person to have some sort of interest and experience (or willingness to learn) with video content…even if that’s as simple as creating video content from your phone! We’re looking for someone who is comfortable behind the camera (and maybe even in front of it) to help us create content across a multitude of channels - so if you’re willing to learn and dabble with basic filming and editing then we want to hear from you. We have a couple of people inhouse that do this in their own time who could help and support on this too.

  • Research and interpreting customer data and insight. It’s not the sexiest part of this role, but is necessary….we’re looking for someone who is happy to work with our internal specialists to understand client and customer insight and translate this into high value content to support our overall lead generation strategy

  • Other ‘marketingy bits and bobs’ - the nature of an independent agency such as Freestyle means that from time to time, you’ll need to dip into other bits and bobs. This could mean anything from helping to create marketing assets and collateral to support new business, to helping organise events and anything in between.

Progression opportunities

This role works directly with the Managing Director, and some of the wider Leadership team, and as such you’ll have exposure to the top level ‘thinking’. You’ll get under the skin of the business’ longer term strategic goals, and create content and content plans that support this.

In the earlier stages, you’ll be responsible for the delivery and execution of a predefined content plan which forms part of a wider marketing strategy, longer term though there is huge opportunity for the right person to grow and develop in to a more senior role that has responsibility for setting out the wider content strategy and subsequent plan.

Qualities that will help you smash it;

  • Creativity! We’re looking for someone who looks at things a little differently and enjoys coming up with creative concepts and ideas (even if we can’t always do all of them!)

  • Excellent copywriting skills. A large percentage of this role will involve writing…from blogs to emails and social posts, so creative copywriting skills will be key

  • Outstanding attention to detail and proofing skills - we need a bit of a spelling and grammar officer!

  • Strategic by nature….thinking long range, and considering how your actions, suggestions and input impact the wider business objectives

  • Epic problem-solving skills

  • ‘Finisher’ mentality (getting the job done)

  • Self-starter, as comfortable working autonomously and as you are as part of a wide and dynamic team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to capture the imagination of the wider team and clients

  • Strong project planning and time management skills

  • Commercial awareness and business acumen (or at least a desire to develop and build on this)

  • Ability to challenge and be challenged and to step out of your comfort zone

  • An interest in personal development and self-awareness will certainly help you flourish here.
