Your Mission (what we want this role to accomplish and the impact it will have)

As the Subject Lead, you will form part of the UX & Product team and have a positive impact on people’s lives by leveraging your industry expertise and experience to design, develop, and deliver online education programmes that help every learner to achieve their career goals within the digital economy.

What your day to day will look like with us (responsibilities & structure of this role)

Leadership

  • Form part of the UX & Product programme’s management team to provide strategic direction and manage the overall health, performance, and quality of Fourthrev’s data programmes.
  • Provide overall leadership to the UX & Product programmes, leading, modeling, and continuing to enhance our pedagogic approach, our intended student experience, and our FourthRev values across the design, development and delivery of data programmes.
  • Work across FourthRev to support the development of new UX & Product programmes with multiple university partnerships and customers.
  • Create an educator presence in the market for FourthRev in order to attract the best industry practitioners into education to develop and/or deliver programmes.

Design

  • Work alongside the Product Owner and Lead LXD to lead on undertaking industry research to inform curriculum design.
  • Support the Product Owner and Lead LXD to design the programme curriculum.
  • Contribute industry insights in co-design workshops with university faculty to ensure course alignment with career outcomes.

Development

  • Create and review course maps in collaboration with Lead LXDs to create engaging, authentic, and relevant learning journeys that provide tangible career outcomes for learners.
  • Contribute to the design and creation of course assessments, weekly assignment activities and practical activities, in line with Fourthrev’s project-based learning pedagogy.
  • Provide overall subject matter expert end-to-end oversight of curriculum creation and enhancements to ensure quality assured learning.
  • Work with Senior LXDs and LXDs to create/author and review written content, practical activities and scenarios and supporting assets , video scripts, narrated animations, tutorials/demonstrations, vignettes and ‘talking head’ videos.
  • Manage and provide oversight of a small team of subject matter experts (SMEs) in the development or enhancement of programmes.

Course enhancements

  • Work with the UX & Product programmes’ management team (Manager of SX, Product Owner and Strategic Partnership Director) to monitor programme performance in order to determine appropriate action plans.
  • Work with our panel of industry experts and undertake continuous professional development to keep at the forefront of the latest industry trends, employer needs, and education solutions to inform programme enhancements to ensure FourthRev programmes remain industry-relevant.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide, inform, and support the implementation of any course enhancements in the action plan with the creation/update of content and working with SMEs to provide overall academic oversight of course enhancements.

Delivery

  • Provide guidance, oversight, and support on curriculum/topics/subject matter to Delivery team of facilitators and student support representatives to ensure the delivery of high quality, learner-centered, quality assured education.
  • Work with university partner’s Head Facilitators to ensure university’s quality goals are achieved, university partner delivery responsibilities are managed, and a strong working relationship with our university partners is maintained.
  • Model and provide oversight of FourthRev’s educator excellence values and approaches to the data programmes..
  • Work with the Manager of SX to ensure high quality programme delivery.

  • Be passionate about the transformational impact of education.
  • Expert-level knowledge of, and an established track record within, your specialist field/industry.
  • Track record of leading, coaching and managing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and an ability to articulate complex ideas in a way that people can understand.
  • Willingness to embrace the unknown, be flexible and continually learn in an ever-changing environment.

Qualifications

5-10 years experience operating at Senior-level within a specialist industry/field.
