Director - Special Project Ops
What we do:
We are a tech unicorn with headquarters in Dublin but with offices in London, New York, Paris, Barcelona and Berlin. Our mission is to help restaurants flippin’ thrive by building technology that gives SMEs an advantage over competitors, like marketplaces.
Our subsequent growth has been underpinned by the belief that key partnerships with restaurants and takeaways, helping them to build their brands and charging a fair fee, provide significant benefits to both restaurants and the Flipdish platform in the long term.
With a branded website and app powered by proprietary platform technology, restaurant owners can directly accept online orders, at a lower cost and with more control over the customer experience. Our core product suite includes whitelabeled websites, mobile applications, kiosks and qr order / pay solutions. Today, Flipdish is a global business with more than 8000 customers in 25 countries and our growth trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.
In January 2022, we achieved unicorn status! Raising a $100M Series C round led by Tencent and Tiger Global. With this funding, we are further strengthening our market leading product suite and sales team and acquiring attractive bolt on businesses, which will help pave the way for Flipdish to become one of Europe's few decacorns.
Role Purpose:
Flipdish is looking at a strong Ops Generalist to help us with an exciting special project. This person will join as a senior leader within our Operations team being given the opportunity to significantly influence the future of our Ops organisation.
The successful candidate for this role will be looking for an exciting new challenge in a hyper-growth environment. They will feel comfortable managing several external relationships, working on a blank piece of paper to design new processes, be comfortable with ambiguity and have strong analytical skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the E2E Operations of a core new product line (effectively becoming a launch manager for this product line).
- Be the subject matter expert on all operational challenges for this product line.
- Develop plans for an operational team to support this product line.
- Outside of leading operations for this “special project”, this person will also own Flipdish’s hardware strategy.
- Managing third party vendors
- Implement an inventory management system from scratch
- Negotiate hardware contracts
- Build and manage inventory forecast models
- Own reporting and analytics around the operational effectiveness of our hardware and new product line operations
- Build dashboards and reports that demonstrate our supply chain efficiency
- Own operational reporting for our “special project”
About you:
- 8+ years of experience ideally at both a top-tier consulting firm and a high growth tech startup.
- You have experience engaging with senior leadership teams.
- You are both analytical and commercially savvy. You use data to drive commercial decision making.
- You have a track record of resolving complex problems and taking a proactive approach to analysing issues and generating solutions.
- You have excellent leadership skills and you are able to influence, inspire confidence and build consensus at all levels.
- You are a doer who is unfazed by ambiguity and who thrives under pressure. The senior leadership team at Flipdish works at a rapid pace, and we are looking for someone with the intellectual and practical firepower to keep up.
- You have excellent project management skills with proven experience managing end to end projects across business units and/or geographies.
- You are organised, responsive, detail oriented and, most importantly, you have a strong bias for action (i.e. you get things done). We are looking for someone who is extremely proactive in their work.

- MBA or a masters degree.
- Global experience.
- Proven success in launching or scaling new products or services
- Experience with Looker (or an equivalent BI tool) and Salesforce
- Experience with inventory management, working with 3PLs and negotiating contracts.
