THE ROLEWe are looking for an SRE to join our growing Platform Team, with expert-level knowledge of e-commerce, enterprise integrations, and cloud computing. This is a hands-on role where you will manage the metrics and high availability solutions for e-commerce using the Farfetch Platform across different consumer channels and the integrations they require.You will work on collecting, processing, aggregating, and displaying real-time quantitative data about a system, such as query counts and types, error counts and types, processing times, and server lifetimes.Provides a summary view of a service’s core metrics. Create dashboards and filters, selectors, and so on, to expose the metrics most important to its users. The data might also display team information such as ticket queue length, a list of high-priority bugs, playbooks for the current on-call engineer, and so on.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Responsible for keeping all user-facing services and systems running smoothly.
  • Collaborate with delivery managers and developers to ensure solution design responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Design and implementation of SRE metrics (SLO violation, duration graph, response time, Load for your critical API calls, Error rate, Database response time, End-user response time, Requests per minute, Availability, Session duration).
  • Container Orchestration using Docker, Azure container, Kubernetes or Rancher, and similar.
  • Network security principles, protocols, encryption basic knowledge, and understanding.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A professional with 6 years of experience, having worked on large-scale enterprise programs;
  • Used to design metrics for complex e-commerce programs.
  • Experienced in REST Methods and API design patterns.
  • Ability to use programming skills to automate solutions (have a firm belief that anything and everything can be automated with code to improve and increase efficiency!)
  • Knowledgeable of cloud solution providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP);
  • End-to-end architecture point of view;
  • Knowledgeable of service-oriented architecture and micro-services / distributed systems patterns;
  • Knowledgeable of solutions respecting security, data privacy, and compliance requirements;
  • Good knowledge of Infrastructure as code and centralized config management;
  • Facilitator and communicator, system and process analysis, agile delivery practices and tools, customer-centric, data-driven.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
