MANINOur monumental office in Via Manin is where NGG was born. It is home to the creative, product and production functions of all the NGG brands. Here you will absorb the essence of the NGG DNA and feel the creative input for all cross-category collections.
THE ROLENew Guards Group is looking for a Product Sustainability Specialist to manage all sustainability initiatives across all brands in relation to product. S/he will ensure NGG Group incorporates sustainable practices in product development and delivery, and that products meet national and international regulations in relation to sustainability. S/he will implement strategies and initiatives to move all NGG Group products to meet global best practices, meeting strong independent environmental and social impact standards and certifications, ultimately working towards NGG and mother company, Farfetch Group goal of selling only ‘Conscious’ products by 2030.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • In coordination with the Production department and with the product compliance office, work with suppliers in the commercialization and launch of more sustainable products across all NGG brands.
  • Communicate with suppliers and ensure certifications, information and reports on product sustainability are up to date.
  • Support the achievement of all sustainability targets aligned with FARFETCH Group 2030 sustainability goals and monitor progress towards the NGG strategic sustainability plan and FARFETCH group goals.
  • Oversee the reporting of NGG Group carbon footprint, in particular the footprint related to product development.
  • Review and identify current or potential risks, defining – in coordination with relevant departments - strategies for recovery and improvement.
  • Support the rollout of the operating model to scale sustainable product development.
  • Implement and manage specific training on product sustainability for relevant groups within NGG, and work with each NGG brand to ensure they are aware of, and making progress towards, broader sustainability goals.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the luxury fashion industry
  • Knowledge of CSR principles, trends, tools and methodologies (environmental, social, ISO 14001, SA8000, OHSAS18001, LCA,…)
  • Environmental or Chemical Engineering or Economics degree
  • Strong understanding of linking sustainability and ethical trade to the commercials of a business and its products
  • Excellent project management skills with a very structured approach to work
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite- PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Fluent in English written and spoken, this will be tested in the interview process
  • Goal orientated with good organizational influencing skills.

  • Innovative with a strong sense of integrity
  • Attention to detail with strong skills in data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure
