You can have an informal meeting in the treehouse or play the piano in your lunch break!THE ROLEYou’ll be part of an exciting department at Farfetch focused on harnessing the power of the Farfetch Platform to allow global omnichannel E-commerce for high luxury fashion. As a Principal Engineer you’ll be a reference for other members of the engineering team, leading a group of expert engineers into solving some of our most complex engineering challenges.
What you’ll do
- Work effectively cross-functionally discussing and identifying new opportunities for projects and features
- Work closely with the Core Platform teams to assure the best standards
- Work closely with Design and Product teams to ensure the best, but buildable application designs
- Own problems end-to-end and work closely with back-end teams to ensure the final solutions fulfils the most complex requirements
- Mentor a group of Front End Engineers
- Share your wisdom when reviewing code written by fellow engineers
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in the IT engineering field
- Experienced in defining and implementing complex engineering solutions at large scale for a global audience
- A person capable of being the Technical Reference and Evangelist for the use of new technologies within the domain
- An individual with solid background as a Full Stack Engineer and an expert in the TypeScript, Node.Js and React ecosystem.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in Product/Software development, with a deep understanding of all different phases, from inception all the way through implementation and continuous improvement
- Experienced in Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum
- An excellent communicator in English, with the capability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization
- A person attentive to detail, with an ability to assimilate, sort through and aggregate complex information quickly and effectively
As a Principal Engineer you’ll be a reference for other members of the engineering team, leading a group of expert engineers into solving some of our most complex engineering challenges.
