THE ROLE
We are looking for an Infrastructure Database Engineer with a DevOps mindset obsessed with automation, scalability, performance, and infrastructure reliability to join our MongoDB database infrastructure team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for guaranteeing database stability, performance, and security building automation to manage all the database Infrastructure attending to the company's needs. Currently, the team manages over 150 VMs, divided into over 50 clusters in our MongoDB Infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work closely with the development team to plan new applications and maintain current ones
  • Analyze database performance issues and come up with solutions to address those concerns
  • Owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and service requests within SLAs
  • Support all the company areas ensuring all databases run with optimal performance
  • Develop and build tools allowing the creation of automation to help with the team activities
  • Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of databases and platforms
  • On-call to support 24x7 the company's Database Infrastructure
  • Work with Agile methodology to support the team projects

WHO YOU ARE

  • Graduated in Computer Science or another technical discipline or related practical experience
  • More than four years of experience in MongoDB database development and production support
  • Experienced in installing and configuring MongoDB databases, and general administration
  • Experience with schema design, query optimization, index tuning, and backup solutions (Physical, Logical and Point-in-Time Recovery)
  • You have experience with: Replica Sets (elections, read/write concerns, arbiters)
  • Knowledge about sharding (shard key, balancer, moving chunks, zoning shard with pre-split chunks, etc.)
  • Knowledge of coding in Python and bash
  • Troubleshooting mindset
  • Experience working in Linux
  • Proficient in English - written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Experience with the following technologies will be considered a plus: SaltStack, Cloud Solutions (GCP/AWS/Azure), Git, MongoDB in Kubernetes and Terraform
