THE ROLE
NGG is looking for a Fabrics Research and Development Consultant to support in the sourcing and development of new materials based on design requirements for both mens and womens collections. You will work closely with the Style and Product team and expand the suppliers portfolio and sourcing base
WHAT YOU'LL DO
· Understand the fabrics and yarns and fiber types inherent properties· Liaise with suppliers and the merchandising team for product requirements, pricing and quality· Provide a wide range of solutions in terms of quality, e.g. color matching· Monitor fabric and product development; working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery· Develop the seasonal/trend boards for the design team· Source new materials/suppliers based on the Brand's requirements· Ensure fabrics meet the Brand's expectations in terms of quality and price· Day to day coordination with suppliers and product developers on the progress of the seasonal collection· Ensure seasonal materials are fulfilled on time and with the right quality and quantity WHO YOU ARE · Previous experience in a similar role preferably in a luxury fashion brand· Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel· Excellent knowledge and use of Adobe package – InDesign and Illustrator· Ability to manage stress and pay close attention to detail· Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure· Ability to work proactively, independently on multiple projects under tight timeframes· Highly organized, flexible with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced everchanging environment· Fluent in English written and spoken this will be tested in the interview process
